The Carriage House Hotel

We were really pleased with our stay at the carriage house hotel. The room was excellent and they helped make my wife’s birthday celebration extra special with rose petals throughout the room, chocolates on the bed and champagne in the fridge. I definitely recommend this place if you are wanting a nice get away in Lafayette without feeling like you’re in a corporate hotel room.

Best Hotel I have stayed in. Clean and just a few maintenance in room (paint, scuff marks). Bed spectacular as was the front desk receptionist who always seemed to be working. Good luck getting this hotel to honor a reservation. My father had a confirmed reservation and when he attempted to check in at 5:30 he was informed they had no rooms available. He paid for the room four months ago. They don't answer the phone, the customer service is horrible, and they are refusing to refund his money. Can I give the hotel zero stars?

We are on day 2 of our stay. We love the hotel, staff and room. They have been helpful and even when my flight was canceled and moved to a different day they worked with me. I would 100% recommend the hotel. They are friendly, amazing and room is great

This is the second time we've attempted to stay at this hotel. Both times ended with us having to leave early due to an obnoxious overly fragrant smell in the room (think bed, bath, and beyond candles on steroids). On our recent attempt, the smell was so strong my wife got a headache and we couldn't even stay through the night. We ended up driving back home because all the area hotels where full due to a festival in the city. We let the office know; they were unable to give a partial refund even though we had to leave and drive home that night. In all fairness they didn't charge us for the second night.

This could be a really cool hotel, the rooms are quite nice and large, and the surrounding area is nice, however there are several negative aspects that just make things more complicated than they ought to be. Finding where to park and check is not obvious or intuitive. Signs are very small and almost hidden and hard to see if you aren’t already familiar with the area. Getting to the rooms is also a bit convoluted. The amenities are nice but you have to walk through the little town center to access them. We also had to be on the road at 8 am and there was no one at the front desk even though their front desk hours stated they’d be there at this time. If the price were a bit lower it wouldn’t be that bad but I feel we payed a premium and only had a mediocre experience.

I lived within walking distance of this hotel for 10 years. When I had family gatherings and needed extra accommodations, I reserved rooms here. My experience with this hotel was always pleasant until yesterday when I arrived to check in. The woman at the front desk was so rude and unwelcoming. If her goal was to ensure that I will never return to this hotel, she succeeded.
