Econo Lodge Topeka at Wanamaker

I was very worried by the reviews. So I brought cleaning stuff and room stray lol the room did not smell like smoke or pot I was very pleased. Very quite and clean. Bed is comfy. If I get snowed in to work. Or have back to back shifts I will stay here again. Several in the area to choice from. But I would stay again

Nothing special. low room rate = low expectations. It was suffice for a one night travel stop, nothing more!

There were beer bottles falling out of the outside trash cans onto the grass. They were there both days I stayed. The bedspread did not look clean and I folded it down. I used a hand towel to clean the bathroom floor. I can not believe it but it is October 1st and I have many small bites on my neck lower leg and around my neck. I strongly suggest there were bed bugs in the room. I am anxious about traveling home and trying to avoid further exposure.

Avoid it! You will be kept up by the highway traffic that goes right by the hotel. The non-smoking rooms smell like smoke. The blankets and bed sheets are a step above rags. The "breakfast" was pre-packed walmart muffins. No eggs, no fruit, no tea. Total garbage!

The pool was closed during our stay. Breakfast also didn’t match what was posted online — it ended earlier than listed, there was very limited food available, and the quality wasn’t good. At check-in, staff required me to read a posted list of rules and verbally confirm that I had read them. The rules were emphasized repeatedly, especially regarding not having guests, and the interaction felt uncomfortable rather than welcoming.

The room STUNK to high heaven like cigarettes. The lobby was gorgeous but the rest of the place was a dump. Breakfast was a joke! Waffles and cereal, but they ran out of waffle batter before breakfast was over.

All the bedding was terribly wrinkled like it was left in the dryer for a long time after it dryed. The breakfast bar did not have half the items shown on the website. On the website there are pictures of a juice machine, an Bain Marie for hot food, and in the pastry case it show a verity of breads , bagels and English muffins. There was only one type of muffins, no bagels or English muffins. The website also shows 4 types of cereal and there were only 2. And no hot food as pictured. Our shower curtain rod was hanging down and almost fell off in rm 201. Very disappointing and I want my points back for my stay. You can contact me if you will.
