The Stamford Hotel

What a DUMP!!!! I’m currently staying in a room 808 and man this hotel is terrible! The bed looks like it was made in a hurry and had lint covering all the sheets as soon as I came in the room of course I had to clean it! There’s holes in the walls with ripping wall paper, the electrical that you charge your phone on is broken loosely hanging on the counter next to my wife’s side of the bed and for some reason it’s sticky like goo gone was used on it at some point, stains in the carpets and there’s more but here’s the winner when I was taking a shower this morning I look on the ceiling of the shower and it had hair all on the ceiling there’s more I can write but this is pathetic that this complaint is this long DO NOT STAY HERE PLEASE USE ANOTHER HOTEL!!!!

Positive: "" Negative: I had to request towels everyday. They never changed the beds for 4 days. Did not remove trash. The restaurant was only open to a hockey team. No breakfast. Coffee was only available from 6am to 8am.

We were here for almost 3 weeks. I must say, a couple of people on the staff were great, we had a spacious and reasonably priced room, very comfy beds, preferences were noted and issues taken care of, as soon as possible. I gave it 4 stars because there were some issues, though not so major. On our first night, there was no hot water, engineering had to come in, the hot water was not great after but I managed though not pleased. One other night, there was no hot water at all in the entire hotel because of some breakdown in the boiler room. Our bathroom door did not have a hanger for towels but that was quickly resolved. One other time too, our room was not cleaned and I was reminding them every day until I was confident, I need not be reminding anymore. Some of the reviews talk about tired furnishings, missing coffee condiments etc and yes, there is truth in it but the hotel exudes an old world charm, like a warm hug and for this, I would head back. It is also only a 15 to 20 min walk to Stamford Station. Love Maria at the front desk, she was very helpful, and treats guests as they should be, while maintaining a respectful front. There is also, ever cheerful, smiley and helpful Daniel Willis who is the Director of Front Desk. Maria and Daniel, they are the true assets here. 🙂 Thank you very much for everything you did, to make our stay enjoyable.

I had booked the Stamford hotel for a getaway on booking.com. I never thought to look at the reviews.of this hotel i saw alot of Complaints of up keeping. once I got to the hotel customer service was great and the service, but the hotel itself, it needs some updating, the shower stopped up , the pool had this nasty Brown stuff at the bottom of it, my daughters were scared to go into the pool it not cleaned and it had floating bug in the pool There was a fight in the pool area where a Intoxicated in the guard didn't do anything and also someone stole my daughter's towel from home. Not only that, the towels were not all that way clean the bed was uncomfortable, we decided to exit we didn't care if they kept our money just poorly run, and whoever has this business needs to do better with the upkeeping. Of this facility it's worst I Don't recommend one night stay

I stay at the Sanford Hotel regularly for a few days each week, and it truly feels like a home away from home. The rooms are very comfortable and always clean, and the front desk staff are consistently helpful and welcoming. The owners take a personal interest in the guests, creating a warm, family-like atmosphere throughout the hotel. The restaurant is a real standout, offering gourmet meals at very reasonable prices. The facilities are excellent as well — a well-equipped gym, a lovely swimming pool, and convenient indoor parking. The Sanford Hotel maintains high standards in every respect, and I always look forward to returning.

Left a gold chain hanging in the shower upon checkout (completely my fault) but it was apparently "not found" which left me with a pretty salty taste because it was obviously found by the cleaning crew when they cleaned the shower. Also the comforter was extremely dirty so we slept without a blanket one night and got a cleaner one for the following night. Aside from that and the dated furniture it was fine but I wouldn’t stay there again even for $100/night

I wanted to express how awful tonight was for me and my family. We came into our room and the toilet was overflowing and appeared to be clogged. There was water all over the bathroom floor, which was extremely unpleasant and inconvenient to deal with. On top of that, our TV was not working. We were asked if we wanted it replaced, which only added to the frustration since multiple things in the room were not functioning properly from the start. The worst part of the experience, however, was the customer service. Liz, the person who was on duty tonight, was very unhelpful and unpleasant when I called the front desk. I called because our room only had ONE towel, even though we booked a double room that cost almost $300. A room like that should have at least four towels available for guests. Instead of offering assistance, she told me that I would have to come downstairs to pick up the towels myself. I explained to her that we were already dealing with several inconveniences in the room, including the overflowing toilet and the other issues, and that it would have been appreciated if someone could bring them to us. Because of the way the situation was handled, I was left very disappointed. I even wonder if I was given the correct information or proper assistance during this situation. Between the plumbing issue, the TV not working, the lack of basic necessities like towels, and the poor customer service, this experience has been extremely frustrating for me and my family. I would not recommend staying here based on this experience, and I would appreciate if someone from management could please reach out to me to discuss what happened. Thank you.
