Holiday Inn Express Fargo-West Acres by IHG

Got a remodel room so that was nice. People being loud and running through the hallways all night. Pool was ok, but a group of kids came in and we're being loud and rude, but since one was 16 the staff refused to do anything, several groups with kids left because of the group of unsupervised kids. Weekday breakfast was good. Weekend was horrid.. out of everything or just to lazy to take care of it. Then when we got there after a long day Saturday night the parking lot was blocked off anf no instruction on where to park. Staff needs to do better.

There is not much to tell about our visit. Property is clean, neat, and well-maintained. Front Desk Clerk (FDC) was friendly and efficient. The room was clean. We have appliances that we use at night that we plug in. There were many outlets to choose from. One negative is that the room fridge didn't have a freezer. We travel with ice packs for our cooler. The FDC was happy to put them in the hotel freezer. Over all, it was a very pleasant experience!

Stayed 2 nights. Booked OTA and first room smelled of wet dog. Hotel attendant did kindly switch our room. This room was better but the door had an upper and lower peephole but the lower peephole had nothing in it. This allowed somebody from outside the room to view directly inside the room. We notified the hotel on our way out for supper and were told it would be addressed. When we returned nothing was addressed. We plugged up the hole with some paper and brought it up again the next morning. Again we were told it would be addressed. We returned late afternoon to find nothing was done. We were going out for dinner and again brought it up to a manager who noted that maintenance did not have the part and that he would address by obstructing the hole. We returned that night and again nothing done. On checkout we again brought it to the hotels attention. It appeared the manager intended to discount the room but said it was OTA so nothing could be done. Never once did they offer another room. There were many opportunities for better customer service repeatedly missed.

A budget hotel in a great location, but showing it's age. The room was spacious. The mattresses were great, but the bedding was a bit worn and thin. The small desk was good for working, but for some reason the tiny microwave was placed on it. The bathroom was large with a tub, but showing it's age with grunge in the corners. The lobby was nice, clean, and we'll organized. Breakfast was OK, but not much to choose from. There must only be one person on duty at the front desk, and I waited many minutes fir someone to check me in. Phone calls to the front desk went unanswered.

Absolutely awful. We were forced to stay here for a hockey tournament. Upon check in I asked for a late checkout and was told I had to wait until the night before to request one. The night before checkout I was told all the late checkouts were taken. Our window didn’t seal properly and we tried to sleep despite the howling wind blowing into our room. Since we couldn’t have a late checkout and our flight wasn’t until 5 we asked to store our luggage and … you guessed it! "No room" to store our luggage. Staff was rude and unhelpful in every regard. Do not stay here.

Had high hopes when reading the reviews on this hotel, unfortunately we didn’t even make it an hour into the reservation. 😃 Arrived to our room, the toilet won’t flush. Okay, that’s fine… wrong. Maintenance then says he has to completely cut plumbing, doesn’t know how long it will take. After traveling all day, being able to simply use the bathroom, let alone shower would have been great! Front desk worker and the "manager" was less than accommodating, after two trips downstairs to talk. Finally, on the way out they had the audacity to say that WE hadn’t even asked for another room. Just a refund. (Weird, how would we know they were ‘full’? Or that initially they just said to wait a couple of minutes and it would be fixed?) Even if we hadn’t asked, which we did, wouldn’t the FIRST thing a hospitality worker in this industry do, would be to offer a different room? **Also pictured are the dirty floors and mattress in our room as we walked in! Great place to take a crawling baby! 🤢
