Stoney Creek Hotel Kansas City - Independence

Furniture was a little worn. Clean though. Close to Bass Pro, Hobby Lobby & Mardel. Several fast food and restaurants close by. We did not eat the breakfast, since a convention was going on that we were not aware of. We would stay again if we are in the Independence area.

We had a really good time. This is the second time I’ve been here seems to always be clean. I love the fireplaces and the atmosphere. We were actually there for a takeover for it was all of our friends and people we knew they have lots of rooms, swimming pool inside and a hot tub. The exercise room is great if you wanna go ahead and get your workout parking is absolutely perfect safe and secure elevators are fast and there are many of them. We will return next year when we are back.

Loved this hotel. Wish we stayed there the whole time. Lovely walking area. We just weren't in the vicinity long enough. Athens food was delicious and breakfast good. Staff was very friendly

This is a great hotel! Nice decor and really friendly, helpful staff. I received a king room, handicapped accessible, and it was adequate for our handicapped needs. My only complaint would be, the room was a little tight for moving around space. It was very clean, no complaints there. Would absolutely stay again. Breakfast was good with quite a few options.

Very nice hotel at a surprisingly beautiful location for a reasonable price with easy access to dining and the interstate. Loved the one mile loop trail around the lake behind the hotel. The room was clean and we enjoyed the complimentary drinks in the bar. We stayed 4 nights while sightseeing around Kansas City. Wifi was unfortunately nonexistent. On the rare chance we could get a signal strong enough to log on, we would lose it within minutes. Breakfast was average. No fresh bananas the whole time, just a brown one the first day. Toaster barely heats up and has to have handle held down. Indoor/outdoor pools with small hot tub are nice, but were being serviced 3 of the nights we were there. Staff are great.

Pretty upset about our room. The window between the two rooms didn’t work we were not told about this prior to our stay. The tub constantly drained the whole time while trying to take a bath and was leaking out of the handles to turn it on. I normally love hotel breakfast and would not eat anything they were serving besides cereal. Would not recommend. Also wanted to add; told the person at the front desk about these issues. She apologized but this was the main reason we booked the room and none of it was a great experience. Was not worth the money. The lady when we checked in originally was super nice, we just didn’t notice the issues until the morning or we would have spoken to her.

Stayed two nights on the hardest beds and worst pillows we have ever used. When doors in the hall close the sound amplifies and it startles you awake. It sounds like your door has just been opened and slammed. The jacuzzi had green grime in the foam and was quite small. The pool was taken over by hoards of teenagers. The noise was deafening. Breakfast was disappointing. The pancakes and taters tasted horrible and the sausage was cold. The eggs were quite good. The staff were friendly. Location was great.
