Coastal Suites - Wilmington, NC

I recently stayed at Coastal Suites in Wilmington, NC, last Friday, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience from check-in to check-out. The location is perfect—right near the coast with easy access to beaches and downtown spots, making it ideal for a quick getaway. The room was clean , spacious, and super comfortable, and stunning views that made waking up a treat. Everything felt fresh and well-maintained, which really enhanced the relaxing vibe. What stood out most was the exceptional service, especially from David at the front desk. He was the best—friendly, efficient, and went out of his way to recommend local eateries and ensure I had everything I needed. His warm welcome set the tone for the entire stay! I’d highly recommend Coastal Suites to anyone visiting Wilmington. It’s a gem—5 stars all the way!

My fair and honest review of Coastal Suites. While I strive to rate hotels based on factual information, my only 3 issues were as follows: 1) Located next to an Opioid Rehabilitation center, which is not a majorly upsetting issue. The main issue I had with this is multiple people waiting for hotel guests to use a secure entrance to get free coffee and use the vending areas. While the front desk was not occupied, I watched 3 people walk from the Rehabilitation center and gain entry to drink coffee from the lobby and use the vending area. Seems like they need to have a permanent person at the the front desk at all times for this reason. 2) The toilet, which took almost 3 minutes to refill after each flush. When I attempted to let the front desk know, there was no one available to speak with. 3) There was no one available at the front desk at 7am to checkout. The Lobby sign stated they opened at 7am, but we were advised by a sign to leave our room key on the desk and they would check us out from the room when available. Overall: It was clean, spacious and we enjoyed it for the 1 night we spent. I understand they cannot choose their neighbors, but security should be a major focus for them. A secondary point would be to update fixtures in their bathrooms, but safety is still the main point.

We had a disruptive neighbor late into the night and the staff took great care of a difficult situation. The lady who worked the night shift was incredible. The man who works the day shift was helpful and very pleasant. Would definitely stay again.

Don't let the price scare you away. This is a well maintained property with better quality linens and mattresses. The stars of the show is the staff. The young lady that checked me in, walked me to my room and made sure everything was as expected. The manager wears all of the hats in the hotel, and jumped right on it when I requested another night. I've already booked next weekend for my usual work trip down. So again, dont let the low price scare you. It will be well worth what you spend plus.

I stayed here for about 3 nights while in town for moving. The staff was incredibly attentive if you needed anything. The hotel has a very cozy, nostalgic feel to it while still remaining pretty clean. It's very quiet and peaceful. The housekeepers do a fantastic job. They even had the room nice and toasty warm for me when I checked in. This place is a little gem hidden in Wilmington. I will definitely be booking with them again when I come back in.

We were well taken care of at the Coastal Suites. It was easy to register, and because of availability, we were given a choice of taking either a top floor room, or bottom floor room (if you want to avoid stairs). We enjoyed staying at a top floor room. Got really good sleep. I was super happy to be offered hot chocolate in the morning at the front. Thank you Coastal Suites!

Great place for an very affordable price. The guy up front was really cool and nice. Room was great clean had no issues. I'll definitely pick this place again if I have too.
