Very easy check in process. Rooms were updated and stylish. It's was a very cold night when we were there (3 degrees) so the heat had a hard time keeping the room warm . Having Barcelona in the building is a huge plus We would definitely stay again

We were pleasantly surprised with the updated Hotel Hi-Ho. The contactless check in was pretty straightforward. The liquor store and restaurant on site were very convenient. The room was comfortable and the new bathroom was lovely. The ice machine in the common room was broken and/or out of ice.

WE arrived at 2am after a late flight. a party of young people pulled in behind us and we had to listen to their party for hours. the second night load music from one room and a women crying in another. No contact means no one a the desk to address these issues, no coffee in the lobby just the 2 small cups from the room coffee maker. NO service that I would get at another Hotel. then a surprise service fee for doing nothing on my credit card at the end.

Location is convenient and the room was just OK, there was some hair in the bathroom and a stain on the bed when I arrived. No fridge in the room. No local channels on the TV, there's really only whatever you can watch for free on the Roku channel, which isn't a great selection. Check in was annoying and could have been more clear. After traveling all day and just wanting to relax, I had to call someone through a barely audible speaker to have them send me a link to fill out a online registration form, then had to take a photo of my ID and myself, and then had to wait 5 minutes for them to send my room info. There's no reason that couldn't have been sent ahead of time to save you standing outside waiting around to be able to get access to your room. The light outside my door was broken so I had to use my phone light to see the keypad on my door to get into my room. Housekeeping started to come into my room before 9am after knocking VERY quietly, even though checkout wasnt until 11 and I was only staying the one night. I wouldn't stay here again or recommend it to anyone. Edit to address the owner's response: I was never sent a check in link the morning of my stay. Gaslighting customers instead of taking accountability is not a good look. Plenty of other people reviewing their stay had similar negative comments about the check in process.

I recently stayed at the Hi-Ho while visiting family and friends for a couple of days over the holiday. I'm from Fairfield originally and am in the area a couple times a year. This was my first stay at the revamped Hi-Ho. I will never stay there again. What an impersonal, disconnected, non comforting stay. What cracks me up is, businesses like this "think" they're doing something cool and creative by being 'contactless', and having everything online, and offering 'streaming access' in rooms. If I'm paying what this hotel charges, I want easy access to live TV, I want communication and access to a live person who can help and provide good service, and I want to feel, as a paying guest, like I matter. Hi-Ho offers none of this. What an awful hotel and awful experience. Please note: I would like to put in a good word for Chelsea, who was in the front office the afternoon of Saturday Dec. 27. She was very nice. I just feel badly for her she works for such a poor business model.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!! We booked this hotel because my father was stuck in traffic in a BLIZZARD. He finally made it to the hotel, and could not check in. NO INSTRUCTIONS WERE SENT, NOBODY ANSWERS THE PHONE, AND NO EMPLOYEES IN SIGHT. This "contactless easy checkin" is a an absolute joke. Not only can he not check in and is waiting in his car in the blizzard, but no one answers the phone. You wait on hold for so long just to end up getting disconnected every time. I would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone. Having no employees in your hotel is absolutely ABSURD. FIX YOURSELVES. This hotel left my father with no other option but to either sleep in his freezing car in the blizzard, or try to drive over an hour home in it. Worst hotel service I have ever had in my life and I have booked many as I am a world traveler.

1) I like the room, once I got used to their weird "check in" process, I know better what to expect now. There is a disadvantage to the no front desk service. Depending on when you book it, you may not get confirmation on how to check in or what your code is for a loooong time. 2) Little things - no fridge. The coffee-maker looks fancy but isn't clear how to use it, once I figured it out, it made luke-warm almost undrinkable coffee. No "table" to sit at with the laptop. Two separate visits had noise problems, one was a couple arguing at 4 a.m. (rooms not very soundproof). The other was workers drilling the ceiling below us at 6:30 a.m., the latter example is definitely a hotel mgmt problem 3) there is no cell service where the hotel is located but they have free wi-fi. Doesn't help for things like car navigation if you are leaving from there and not in their wi-fi range. 4) the phone number they give you for support, you may be waiting 10 minutes for a person. They are friendly and as helpful as they can be, but they can't help with everything. 5) There was a 150$ charge AFTER I paid for the room. This was to cover any future damage I might do and is only refundable after they determine that and only after 3 days. There also is a $5.75 "check out" fee. You have no choice for this. The phone number support said "this is a new charge based on how I booked it". Phhht. .. All this being said, the room was nice and seemed to be fairly modern, clean floors, hot water, good shower, plenty of towels, good temperature control for HVAC. I give the bed a 5-out-of-10 on comfort scale. Not awful but not great either. All this being said, I will stay there again but only if I book in advance and get a good rate .. I know what to expect and what not to expect.
