The Lakeland Guesthouse is a magical and historical place to stay. The 3 bedrooms are unique in there own way. The kitchen is prestine and stocked full of anything you might need to cook with. There are even snacks on the hutch. The porch was my favorite part. Somehow in the heat of Florida, the porch had a magnificent breeze with a gorgeous view of the lake. You should stay here if you are anywhere near Lakeland. We will definitely be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Lakeland Guesthouse for our 10th anniversary a few weeks ago and cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was. The house itself is beautiful (inside and out) and we felt at home instantly. It has everything you need for a weekend away and the grocery store isn’t too far either, so we were able to grab a few things to keep there for in-between meals. The front porch is so relaxing and we watched the sunset from there both nights we stayed. Between the ceiling fans and the breeze, it is a perfect place to curl up with a book and a glass of wine! Unbeknownst to me, my husband ordered flowers for me from a local florist as an anniversary surprise. The hostess was so gracious and offered to pick them up and have them delivered to the room before we arrived. My husband also ordered the ‘Anniversary Package’ that they offered, which included champagne as well as a fruit and cheese tray. It was such a lovely way to start our anniversary celebration and we were able to relax and hang out at the house for a bit instead of rushing off to find dinner the instant we arrived. The Lakeland Guesthouse is quiet and is within walking distance to downtown, as well as Lake Mirror. Florida Southern College offers a tour based on the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, which we loved. And if you are into birding and nature, you have to check out the Circle B Bar Reserve, a quick ten-minute drive from the house. There was a farmer’s market downtown on Saturday morning and some great live music Saturday night, as well as a number of excellent restaurants in the area that were recommended to us by the hostess. All-in-all, it was a perfect weekend getaway and we can’t wait to book another weekend there!

This house was absolutely perfect! We rented it for our wedding weekend, and my bride and I stayed there the night of the wedding. Kristin (the owner of the house) got us chocolate covered strawberries and champagne to help us celebrate. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to spend our first night as a married couple. Let's start with decor. A great mix of anthropologie-style designs with a clean, modern twist. Very warm and perfectly put together. I wish my house looked this good! The house has a huge southern porch overlooking the lake, equipped with chairs and patio furniture. Perfect for sipping sweet tea and watching the sun set. The house is two-story, with the bottom floor being the common living area. Based on the pictures, I was expecting a small living room abutting a dinner room. Not the case at all. The place was huge! We rented the entire house (so we had the common areas to ourselves), and the living room very comfortably fit the 10 guests we had over. The kitchen was stocked with popcorn, trail mix, cookies, and lots of coffee. Moving upstairs, each bedroom had its own bathroom and closet. We stayed in the bedroom overlooking the lake. The bathroom and closet were huge, the bed was very comfortable, and the view was amazing. After our wedding, my bride and I just sat in the little nook in the bedroom sipping champagne and watching the sun set. It was perfect. Kristin was an absolute pleasure to work with and her house is amazing. And it is such a great deal. I highly recommend this house. If you need a beautiful place to stay in Lakeland, this is it!
