Best Western Plus Steeplegate Inn

This hotel was beautiful and very clean. The hostess was friendly and resolved a booking issue for me as soon as I got there. Also, it is easy ro get to from the interstate which is very important to me as a truck driver. I was able to rent a room with a jacuzzi tub and it was large and very comfortable. The price was reasonable and included a hoy breakfast.

So disappointed in this hotel. It's a lovely place, wonderful pool area, well|laid out, had a great restaurant and bar. Came here several years ago and loved it so we returned.....to find out at |check in, that the restaurant and bar have permanently closed. No advance|information about this. And it didn't get better. Our room, 107, was permanently|damp and A/C didn't help (tho I will say it was spacious) The secure lock on our door didn't work and the door to the hotel entrance nearest our room that was supposed to have a 'secure' key requirement just opened without any security. The beds have metal frames which squeaked with movement. (the pillows were nice!) The included breakfast was not well tended so there was no coffee, or hot water, or bread, or milk available when we got there. And it was less of a breakfast than last time (2 years ago) I had to go to the kitchen to find anyone. No one answered the phone at the front desk from the room, and it took 4 tries to get anyone to answer the phone when I called on the way in. I saw a total of 3 employees while we were there for 2 nights. |It is clearly under new management and has wonderful potential but at this|point I wouldn't return. No one seems to care....

I feel like the place has tons of potential. The rooms are really nice! Amd the pool area is a really cool lay out. Now let's circle back to the rooms. Ours didnt get cleaned very well... They shower was dirty. The floors in the room were dirty and sticky! Had chucks of what I hope was dog food or mud. Driving up to the hotel was kinda a pain but not bad. They have next to no lights outside. Made me kinda scared to leave my car alone. We made sure it was parked by the window and we could see it. The beds suck..... But at the end of the day its like 80 bucks with taxes and fees. Now with that being said with a little care the place could be a great little hotel! Hopefully management improves the cleaning process and maybe update beds after that it would be a great place!

The employees were very friendly. My friend and I spent New Year's Eve at this hotel in Davenport. The staff on the night and the morning were all very friendly, and the breakfast was amazing. The overall atmosphere was calm and cozy, and the price was reasonable.We even stayed longer after checking out to play pool in the lobby. Oh, and coffee was available everywhere: in the lobby, in the room, and in the kitchen.

We stay here every time we are in Davenport. The staff is friendly, breakfast is good, and the price is fair. The atrium and the pool is a cool atmosphere. The rooms aren't anything special, but they're always clean and get the job done. I would recommend it to people looking for a place to stay in the area!

Positive: Nothing Negative: Ice machines were not functioning. While looking for ice the security latch inside the door engaged and hotel maintenance had to let me back into the room. Breakfast was not available until 6:30 unlike most hotels which start serving at 6.

Honestly one of the most mediocre hotels I've stayed at in a long time. Not bad, but below the general standard that you find at best western Plus. The hotel has a unique layout, with the pool in the center of the hotel and rooms overlooking the pool, however, the pool makes the entire hotel humid and damp. The room AC was turned down to 64 to (poorly) compensate for the humidity, leaving the room freezing and yet still damp. Our first king room had stained sheets and we were given a queen room instead. Both rooms were old (which is fine), but especially the king room did not match the hotel photos, which were made to look newer or showed a more modernized room than we were given. Bed in new room was clean, but damp and with one tiny old blanket, no comforter. Dingy chair in king room, chair in queen room was newer and slightly cleaner. Microwave was broken in our room and made a very loud noise, bedside lamp and cable channels only worked part of the time. Several items in breakfast room out of order, water cooler in gym out of order. Big loud carpet drying fans running in one hallway. Overall, just not a pleasant stay. But mostly clean and safe feeling. Staff was friendly and helpful.
