Super 8 by Wyndham San Angelo

My job put me up in the hotel last week during the snowstorm. My truck broke down and I had to get towed in to San Angelo. It was 2 o’clock in the morning and nothing else was available so get to the room. First thing I see in the restroom was to cockroaches. I said oh hell no not staying here. You’re gonna have to find me another room another hotel cause this is not a hotel it’s a motel and that’s a stretch even calling at that so I got up out of there my company put me up at the Holiday Inn

It was disgusting and had roaches on the walls and floor. The AC was weird and kinda sucked. Honestly my first red flag was the fact that they had a doorbell ring camera as a camera in the main lobby.

Believe the reviews! This place has a roach infestation! We were coming down from Dallas arriving after 1 am and had no place to stay. This was the first available spot and I tried booking it without reading reviews. Luckily, my wife did while I was at the reception so we asked to see the room and guess what, there were roaches. We thanked the guy for being flexible at that time and took our business elsewhere. I gave the experience two stars because the receptionist was very accommodating and polite, even though it seemed like I got him out of bed. Better stay away until they resolve the issue. Don't wait for the last minute and book in advance if possible, in a reputable spot. Don't let the cheap price fool you. We ended up paying 3x but were extremely happy with the alternative. Unfortunately we didn't have the option to plan and book ahead.

Only motel i could find that could check me in earlier than 3. Room has many roaches i had to buy spray. The housekeeper didn't clean the room good, I had my own bleach cleaner to clean the toilet and tub. The sheets were stained. It took the hit water 10 minutes before it even warmed up. I showered with the faucet turned all the way to hot

The size of the room was just about the only benefit to the stay. There were roaches all over the place, the cleaning staff only stepped foot in my room to exchange towels and throw away beer bottles, bed sheets and other amenities weren’t replaced. There were holes in almost every wall, the bathtub was cracked on the bottom right where you need to stand to shower so water was just flooding through it, the bathroom fixtures weren’t seated properly so you could see straight into the wall, and watch the roaches come in and out of. Smoke alarm was removed and the wires were left hanging. Overall terrible stay.

Housekeeping is amazing, some of the service we have gotten is ok. The son is amazing, the dad not so much. Just being honest. This is the second worst motel I have ever stayed in.

I'm done with Super 8. Room was filthy. Now you only get two bath towels and two wash cloths; bath mat and hand towels are extra. Breakfast, even just a simple continental, no longer offered. There was a large black dog barking just outside our room when we left for dinner. Apparently it stays in the room which wad ours during the day, but it barks all night. So 25+ years of Super 8, coast to coast traveling, and I'm done.
