The New Bedford Harbor Hotel is a conveniently located building in the cities downtown area. I reserved their ballroom for my baby shower of about 100 people. The space was perfect with their ceiling to floor windows allowing natural light to flow in and illuminate the room. I was able to capture beautiful pictures during day and into dusk. The service from the manager to staff was beyond accommodating, attentive and professional. I would highly recommend reserving their ballroom, meeting room or staying at this wonderful property for any occasion that draws you to the historical New Bedford city.

it's hard to quantify this review. I would stay there again if I needed to the room was perfectly clean up to par bed was comfortable bathroom all the amenities. It was just the carpeting throughout. The entire facility was really dirty to me in need of replacing or cleaning, the elevator didn't work, which didn't bother me. It was in a great location for everything I needed to do everyone there was pleasant. I just felt all the carpeting in the hallways and stairs and walls were just dingy. The price was great. I guess I'd prefer a place it didn't even have carpeting. The breakfast in the morning was very good. The front desk check in and check out were great. I think it was really just all that carpet dingy colored walls and low lighting that made common area seem older than necessary.

Got into new bedford from philadelphia. After a harrowing difficult drive. Arrived at one thirty a m.The staff was amazing courteous and comforting. The rooms were very nice. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was actually okay and the coffee was drinkable!! It is very walkable to the ferry. 5 to ten minutes downhill. Thank you

Positive: It was located within walking distance to the harbour. Negative: Housekeeping never came to our room once during our 3 night stay. The towel rack was pulled off the wall prior to our arrival and didn't get fixed. The have a continental breakfast but ran out of yogurt, etc.

Great location. The hotel lobby was beautiful. Unfortunately the restaurant/bar was not open. We were only provided 1 towel for our stay as the service they use for linens has a fire. The staff was not able to provide an update on getting towels. We had to go to Walmart to buy towels to ensure we could dry ourselves after showering. We waited at the front desk for a long period of time without being helped because no one was there. The hotel stairway also smelled horribly of marijuana. Our room was dusty. On a positive note the building was beautiful and the bed was comfortable.

Dirty room! Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks. Or it is used as a employee relaxation room. Toilet won't flush, tried several times to get it too, never did. Plaster and paint falling from ceiling, plaster and dirt all over the bed, carpet, desk. Light fixture hanging from ceiling as soon as you walk in the room. Could very easily fall from the ceiling. Holes in every wall, esp the bathroom. Used to be a towel rack in the wall, now just 2 big holes and paint/plaster missing there instead. NO soap in bathroom! Towels are stained and have holes. Shower had large mildew growth and holes in the tile. Probably from where the soap/shampoo holder used to be. Loud banging noise all night from the outside. TV was missing power cord was unable to watch TV. Power outlet near bed was not secured to wall and sparked when I tried to unplug my charger. Bed very, very uncomfortable. Probably had not been replaced within the last 10 years. It's so old and used, that you roll to the middle of it. Had to wait over 10 min for the front desk receptionist to show up for check-in. Went to go find them, sitting at the bar with their head phones in and not paying attention.

Hotel is tired and needs refurbishing. Free parking available on the street because we stayed over a weekend other than that parking 2 blocks away. The gentleman who checked us in on Friday was very helpful and friendly. Next morning breakfast was adequate it nothing was labelled as a help for allergies. I went to ask a question at the front desk one of the girls was on the phone and the other was there joining in with the conversation neither acknowledged me and just left me standing there. Sunday morning there were no plates and very little cutlery. Went to get coffee and the pot was empty asked the lady on the front desk for more and she said she would get it. Nothing happened and when I went back she was standing there chatting to another member of staff. As soon as she saw me she stopped and went and changed the empty pot for a new one. Ate their first evening food was fine and cooked well but very limited. Wouldn’t stay there again and would think twice about staying at an Ascend hotel in the future
