Terrible Experience – Paid for 2 Queen Lake View, Didn’t Get It, No Refund I specifically reserved and prepaid for a 2 Queen Beds Lake View room because I always need two beds. That was the entire reason for booking this room type. When I arrived, I was told they did not have any 2 Queen Lake View rooms available — only a King Lake View. That is not what I paid for. If the room type wasn’t available, it should not have been sold. The front desk told me to contact Expedia for a refund. However, when Expedia reached out to the hotel on my behalf, the hotel refused to authorize any refund. So I was charged in full for a room I did not receive. This is unacceptable. If a hotel cannot provide the room category that was prepaid, they should either: 1. Provide an equivalent or better alternative with two beds, or 2. Issue a full refund. Instead, they kept the money and took no responsibility. Be careful booking here — what you reserve and pay for is apparently not guaranteed.

We have stayed at the Courtyard Erie Bayfront many times in the past and have always enjoyed the property, its location, and the amenities. However, during this most recent visit we were uncomfortable with the large number of dogs throughout the hotel. It was especially noticeable in the elevators, where it often felt crowded and unsettling. At checkout, a small dog barked continuously in the lobby, and no effort was made to address the disruption. While we understand that the hotel is pet-friendly and many guests appreciate that option, it would be helpful if management set clearer guidelines to ensure a more balanced and comfortable experience for all guests.

Positive: The hotel's location is great. There is a beautiful pool overlooking the lake. The outside area was quite crowded on the weekend but manageable during the week. Negative: Wish the pool/outdoor area was bigger with more chairs. One of the elevators was out of service.

My little family of 3 had an amazing time, the employees and manager was friendly and helpful. 1 night turned to 2 and food was fresh and priced well. Pool area 10/10. Cant wait until nect time . Wanting room 231 next to the pool lol.

Unfortunately, my stay at Courtyard by Marriott Erie Bayfront was not a good experience. The mattress was uncomfortable, which made it hard to get a good night’s sleep. The shower design was also an issue — there was no glass door or curtain, so water ended up all over the bathroom floor after every shower. For a Marriott property, we expected better comfort and a more practical bathroom setup. The location is nice, but the room itself needs improvement.

I recently stayed at the Courtyard Marriott on Sassafras Pier in Erie, PA, and unfortunately my initial experience was not pleasant. The room was not clean, and the comforter and bedding had visible stains. When I contacted the front desk, housekeeping was sent to change the sheets, but I was not offered another room. Additionally, we planned to use the pool, but were not informed at booking—or upon check-in—that the pool area was under construction. The entire floor had exposed flooring, sectioned-off areas, scattered towels, plastic coverings, and generally looked unfinished and uninviting. There was no notice online indicating the pool would be unavailable or under renovation, which was disappointing. That said, I want to acknowledge Mr. Hess at the front desk (Director of Front Office, I believe). When I shared my concerns at checkout, he was professional, apologetic, and genuinely committed to making things right. He promptly offered to credit half of my stay and thanked me for giving him the opportunity to address the situation. His customer service truly stood out and made a difference. While the property itself needs attention during renovations, Mr. Hess’s response and professionalism were appreciated.

We booked a room block for our family while celebrating our reception party in the area. The accommodations were wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and it was so nice having a place where our guests could gather at the bar and relax by the fireplaces outside after the celebration. There was a mix up with the dates for our Sunset Suite and we were told it would not be available during the days we had reserved. When we arrived the staff had resolved the issue, and we were given the suite for the correct dates. They even provided the first night at no charge as a gesture for the inconvenience, which we truly appreciated!
