Glass House Inn Erie Near I-90 & I-79

My husband & I stayed there last end of June beginning of July. We loved the updates they've done on the rooms & were very happy with our stay there. Clean & comfy. Friendly staff, nice variety on foods & juices in the cont. Breakfast experience. Met some wonderful new friends who were staying there as well during our days & nights there. We love the heated pool & visiting with our new friends in the little gazebo - really clean!!!

Stripped all of the character out of the rooms with the renovations, could have at least kept the old sinks and bathroom tile. If people wanted to stay in another grey box any chain hotel could have done quite nicely. Had the owners been patient they could have leaned into a retro or kitsch direction and done a more tasteful renovation. By way of example, the Hotel Laurel at Seneca Lake isn’t perfect, but the rooms show a way to successfully update a room and retain character.

As we were approaching Erie from the west we found this nice motel. The spacious room was clean and tidy (as was the bathroom) and included a nice couch. We slept very well on a large, comfortable bed. Breakfast was included in the excellent price, but we chose to visit Krispy Kreme instead (a rare treat for us). The exterior could use some painting and TLC, but we were pleased with the value received and would definitely stay here again.

My daughter and I recently made a trip to Erie and stayed at the Glass House Inn. Easy check in. Rooms are clean and updated bathroom. This is a very nice place. The beds were comfortable. I usually travel with my own pillow but didn’t need it as the pillows were also comfy. Decent clean towels, wash clothes and hand towels. Shower had accommodation for all bathroom needs. I would definitely stay here again and recommend as to a great place to stay

Positive: It felt old fashioned and comfortable. Negative: Needs a ceiling fan over the bed area..

The room, although they have tried to update it, looks like it had not been dusted in years. We got in, there were stains on the bedding. We asked the to change it. The new clean bedding also had stains. The walls are paper thin. While one set of neighbors were arguing all night, we could hear every single word of their argument. The other neighbor clearly lived there. The bed was the single most uncomfortable thing I have seen in a hotel/motel. Not sure what it was made of but it clearly was not fashioned out of mattress. The chair looked like it had "love stains" all over it.

We stayed at the Glass House Inn for one night in August 2025. Upon arriving, we saw that the outside of the inn badly needed painted. The plants around the area needed trimmed. They are overgrown. I had read that this inn was family owned for the past 50 years. I was not aware that it is under new management. The clerk was nice but I had a hard time understanding her. The check in room smelled very strong of cooking. Our room was small. It had 2 double sized beds and a small bathroom. Watch out that you don’t trip in the bathroom. The shower is very close to the toilet. One step back, and you could trip into the shower. Everything in the room worked well and the room was very clean. There is a light continental breakfast available. It consists of waffles, cereal, donuts, cookies and fruit. Coffee and apple juice are available also. If you want water, the first bottle is free. They charge $5 for the second bottle. There is an outside pool, which looked clean. We didn’t use it. This is a no frills hotel.
