Kumeyaay Campground is truly one of the best campgrounds we’ve stayed at! The entire place is peaceful, well-kept, and surrounded by beautiful nature, perfect for a relaxing getaway. The campsites are clean, spacious, and thoughtfully laid out with just the right amount of privacy. What really stood out to us were the showers and restrooms, spotless and well maintained, which is so important to us when camping. You can tell the staff genuinely care about keeping everything in great condition. A huge shoutout to Scott and Mario, the campground hosts, they are incredibly hospitable, friendly, and always ready to help. They made our stay even more enjoyable with their kindness and welcoming attitude. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend Kumeyaay Campground to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, and well-run place to camp!

We went here on a classroom camping trip with my child's 1st grade classmates. It's a great place for a one to two night camping experience without having to travel far. We had site #6 and it was great. Not too far of a walk from the bathrooms, which are very clean with real flush toilets and nice showers if needed. Easy access to trails and no traffic noise. Sites on the south side of the campground had a lot more traffic noise. The Saturday morning ranger talk was good. We purchased our firewood from the ranger - $5/bundle, which was very convenient. We reserved our site using the online system, which worked. But we didn't get any sort of email confirmation so thankfully I had made note of which site we booked.

Honestly I was genuinely upset. I scheduled for a friday check in and it said it was available and a Sunday morning checkout. Me and friends traveled from Vegas and got here later than we planned and got there around 12am (technically Saturday now) and we camp all the time and have never come across a problem where if we show up later then check in time and we couldn't get in because there was a gate covering the entrance. And even if the site was closed Friday, the site should have a true blocked window for when you can book. I even called Saturday morning and multiple times mid day to see if we could camp our Saturday-Sunday reservation and no answer or call back. So im left to assume they were closed but again the website said it was open to book for the days I needed. Bad communication, website could've been more thorough on booking dates, and could've at least had more signs at the entrance to state closure for that day. I stayed at lake Jennings last minute lost my money from this reservation but it was a terrible experience not going to lie. Never has happened before, but definitely disappointed. Ps there's no communication or explanation in the website / reservation confirmation email on what to do if you show up late. The other place i stayed at sent me a whole code and phone number on what to do.

Nice little campground. Tent sites available. RV sites available in different lengths. Fires are allowed, in fire pits, at each site. (Fires might not be allowed during some seasons as this is in a fire prone area.) Picnic table at each site. Generators allowed in certain campsites during non-quiet hours. Potable water available. Bathrooms available. Showers available. Trash dumpsters available. RV Tank Dump Site available. Hiking trails, ranger station. Friendly. Small lake. Fishing allowed from shore only. Good cell phone reception. Don't count on any TV reception.

The camp grounds are Beautiful and the bathrooms are nice and clean but the camp rangers make this whole experience not worth going. Talk about killing the mood. I get they are trying to keep the park nice. But we had 3 camp rangers come over keep in mind we have only been here for not even 5 hours. I had my phone music on he told us to turn it down and it was only 8:40pm. My music to my phone it not loud at all. He had me turn that down. It’s crazy. Not worth going. That will be the last time I go and camp there!!!! Horrible …… and no smoking no vapes. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Nice place. Clean bathrooms and showers included at no additional cost. There is a beautiful trail walk around the lake that is a 1/2 mile loop.... But the sign is confusing, so we ended up walking much further. One side the arrow went one direction and on the other side it went two different directions. Really dumb. We still enjoyed it all, but we ended up walking around to a drop off area... We turned around and then started walking towards some apartments and realized we were way off track. ... The half mile loop continues across a water Bridge shortly after you start the trail. Overall we really love this place. It's far enough from the city but close enough to get there within 20 minutes. Whenever we visit San Diego we stay here! Highly recommend!
