This is by far the best camp ground for a family I have ever been to. Cameron (owner) goes above and beyond for his guests—for example; we did the hayride to go pick out pumpkins and my toddler was so sad there was not a small white pumpkin. She did not through a fit, just was visibly bummed. She got over it, but just didn’t have the excitement she had when we got there. Without being prompted Cameron picked up on it and asked if she saw the small ones in the trailer. She sparked up and we walked over to take a look. When we got to the trailer, it was empty. Cameron apologized and we thanked him for trying. Later that evening, unprompted, Cameron came by our camp site with not one, but two small white pumpkins and my daughter lite up. I could not believe it. He went to the store and picked out two small pumpkins and then hand delivered them, just to see the smile on her face. In business I know not every problem is a solvable one, but It is clear to me that if something can be solved, these guys will do whatever it takes. Besides the outstanding customer service, this campground is clean, well maintained and has all of the facilities needed for campers (bathrooms, showers, laundry, convenience shop, etc). If there was anything I would suggest for improvement, it would only to offer hot coffee in the main office shop. But that might just be me. 😂

This campground is one of our favorites! We’ve stayed twice now, and each visit has been a great experience for the whole family. There’s so much to do, especially for the kids. Playgrounds, a giant bounce pad that runs all day, sand volleyball, basketball, and pickleball courts. The shuffleboard court is in excellent shape too.||The campsites are clean, spacious, and many are nicely shaded. The pools are a big plus—well-maintained and perfect for relaxing or kids having fun with the buckets that dump water. The office staff was incredibly friendly, and we really appreciated how welcoming Cameron and Brenda were.||The seasonal guests were super kind and made the atmosphere even more enjoyable. It’s a great place to unwind, have fun, and make family memories. We’re already looking forward to our next stay!

We had a great stay at Hungry Horse. My kids had an absolute blast and made many new friends. The facility was in good shape, the camp store was modest but well equipped and fairly priced. Roads are a mixture of paved and gravel. Water and Electric worked fine. 2 RV dump stations at the exit. Campsites were relatively flat, although there is a small hill separating the north and south halves, right at the camp store/office. The northern section sites were mostly grassy but sand/dirt in the high foot traffic (camper awning) area so you may want an outdoor rug. Picnic table and metal fire ring are present at each site. Sites ranged from full sun, part shade, and full shade. The southern section was set in more dense tree cover and almost all shaded, gravel roads, dirt sites. Dorr is a very small town, is very close by, and has grocery, hardware, fuel etc to cover any needs while you're there. My only complaint is my travel route takes me past Battle Creek, and it seems no one there knows how to properly enter an interstate highway.

We absolutely love this campground! We’ve stayed here twice now, and each visit has been a fantastic experience for our whole family. There’s so much to do—especially for the kids. From the well-maintained shuffleboard court to multiple playgrounds, basketball, sand volleyball, and pickleball courts, there’s never a dull moment. The giant bounce pad is a huge hit and runs all day. The bathrooms and showers are well made and clean. The campsites are spacious, clean, and many offer great shade. The pools are beautiful and refreshing, and the overall atmosphere is welcoming and fun. The staff at the office were incredibly friendly, and we really enjoyed chatting with Cameron and Brenda—they were wonderful! Even the seasonal campers were warm and kind, which really added to the community feel. We truly can’t say enough good things about this place. Already looking forward to coming back next year!

Highly recommend this campground! We stayed for the first time 9/19-9/21- well, we left 1 day early because it ended up storming and we are tent campers. The entire staff we interacted with were super nice and helpful and all of the other campers we interacted with were nice and respectful too. The restrooms and showers were kept clean and they were warm too! The sites are so spacious compared to the several other campgrounds we've been to this summer. The activities they have planned were actually really fun and well organized and they had them staggered appropriately so there was no real "waiting in line" or "waiting for others" which was such a score in my book with several ADHD kids. It was halloween themed this weekend, lots of fun halloween activities, trick or treating, site decorating, etc. The only bummer was that we did pay for an activity that ended up being cancelled from the rain and we did not get a refund - but I believe that is a common thing among campgrounds; just a bummer when you're a single income family in these situations. We will absolutely be back next year and will likely be frequent fliers at this campground. Honestly might look into a seasonal once we're not tent campers anymore 🙂

The one night we stayed there (mid May) was really good. The pool wasn't open yet but the playgrounds and bounce pad were a hit with the kids. The tent spaces have electricity and water at each site with a fire pit and picnic table. We had to leave after one night because there were tornados coming and we were tent camping. 😅 Thankfully they were nice and gave us a refund when they didn't have to. Because we had paid for over a week but it's good we left as a tornado hit down just miles from the campground.

This campground was a great place to stay 20 years ago. Since the new owners took over the place has seriously gone downhill. Most of the lots are dirt- not the nice cared for grass that they used to be - which makes it extremely hard to keep things & kids clean. The facilities need work and updating especially for the price you pay per night. It is nice that there is a zero entry kiddie pool however, it also needs to be better maintained and should be heated. Our kids were shivering trying to play which made it hard to enjoy. The new owners are rude and short tempered and do not embrace the traditional family community setting this place embodied for years.
