Oceanside Sanctuary

I’ve been attending Oceanside Sanctuary Church for about 6 years. I was looking for a deeper spiritual life and happily found this amazing church. First, I love the beautiful, stained glass historic building. But the real gems are the co-pastors, Jason and Jenell Coker and all the wonderful people that are a part of this church. It is a rare space where all are welcome, where we are asked to think and live deeply in our faith. It is a rare space of inclusion, love, diversity, while embracing the word of God and the life of Jesus. It is a rare space of welcoming atheists, agnostics, and those who aren’t sure what they believe. And we find so many ways to be of service to our community. This loving community has restored my faith, given me a new home, and connected me to the wonders of God.

I am so grateful to have found my home in this church and now finally feel close to God again thanks to the leaders here & the community. I am extremely grateful for the loving, inclusive community of OSC & their focus on justice, joy & inclusion in the name of jesus!

It's already humiliating enough to have to go to a pantry to be treated without a spirit of love. It hurts when you need help and your talked down to.Sarah wouldn't approve.

My wife and I have been going to this church for several weeks now and it is by far the best church we have ever been members of. The staff is friendly and genuine. Jason and his wife Jenelle are cornerstones of the community. The church is inclusive and LGBTQ+ friendly. We found our home here for sure. UPDATE We have now been members for almost two years and there is a reason this church is growing. The community here is unparalleled. The staff, the volunteers, and of course Jason and Janelle are our home away from home. If you’re looking for a church that actually acts like one and doesn’t just talk about it, come to OSC.

My family and I have been attending this Church since Easter. The community is a diverse mix from all different backgrounds and I love the message that Pastor Jason sets of being good Christians to everyone and that we need all different types of people in our life to challenge us and makes us better people. The congregation may be small but it is full of lovely human beings. The live music is amazing and has a very soulful bluegrass feel. I love that this Church takes care of the homeless right at its doors. They really set a good example for the kind of Christians I want my kids to be by doing rather than just preaching. The pastor Jason is also a college professor and my husband and I love listening to his thoughtful sermons and deep insight. He freely admits that everyone is not always going to agree with everything he says, but his general messages of treating others well is always present in every sermon. I have gone to many Churches where I feel like I am going through a routine or the preacher/pastor/ priest gets too political. I have finally found a Church that fits.

I go here for Sarah's Hope free pantry to help sustain my daughter and I. They have amazing healthy options. A lot of stuff from Trader Joe's. Plus you get to pick your own items which adds a sense of respect and its just nice to have your choice...it makes it more like a regular shopping trip. The people are so nice and give a courtesy call to remind you that its your day to come in. This has been a real life saver for us!
