Under new management! Visited for open water swimming practice. (Triathlete) I went in Sept ‘25 and was warmly welcomed by the new owner, Chris. He gave me a tour, and encouraged me to come by anytime. Triathletes are permitted before and after hours, and he instructed me on how to pay the $10 entry. Park hours were 10a-5p when I went but you can swim anytime. You can pay via QR code or cash. You do need to sign a waiver, but only once- so your first time you need to go during business hours. There is a place to rinse off. There were several other swimmers when I was there. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time. The best part was the water! It was warm of course given the time of year but it was beautiful. I much prefer this to Lake Longhorn. Two laps is 1.2mi, four is 2.4.
Never heard of this place till 2 weeks ago. Amazing water, clean, not trashy, beautiful and peaceful. Loved it!
Review from August 2024: We went on a Saturday early morning and enjoyed arriving at a very calm atmosphere. However with a few hours it started to get busy and we noticed that a shirtless man in the group next to us had a gun showing hanging on his belt. In the paper of rules that they gave us upon entry, I don't remember seeing anything about guns being prohibited so we'd really appreciate that being added and emphasized before entry. It was very worrisome to experience this and we hope it's taken seriously. Original review in 2021: Went today for the first time and really enjoyed it! We'll definitely be back. It was pretty empty, only 2 other groups when we showed up at 10 am but the gate was closed and there was no one. We just put our money in the pay box and walked over to our spot. At around 11:30 an employee came up to us & told us the gate was now open and we could bring our car to our spot. At around 3 more people started showing up but even then there was plenty of distance between each group and a very calm vibe overall. Loved it!
Nice place for open water swimming. Already enjoying for 10 years every Sunday mornings during the late spring, summer and early fall. Highly recommended place for pro swimmers. The management and owners, we appreciate your service and keeping the prices low for us.
This place is absolutely great for long-term camping! Our daughter stayed here in our RV while going to U of H during the spring semester this year (soooo much cheaper than apartment costs). 23 miles from campus and within minutes of any food or shopping she needed. The Rv park itself was quiet, and her neighbors were great and helpful when she needed them! The owner was easy to work with and quick to take care of anything we had an issue with! This is definitely a park we will be looking to come back to for her future semesters of schooling!
So beautiful and relaxing. Pretty, clear water. I'm impressed with how clean they keep the grounds. $11/per adult entry/ $20 canopy rental/ $55 lily pad rental/$11 life jacket rental. They also charged me $5 for bringing in my own paddleboard. Nice place to float, swim, and bbq. No pets allowed.
Nice place to come relax with the family and have fun in a clean environment. Yes, they do drive around but there making sure the trash is in it's place or just checking to see if you need anything. I've been coming here for several years and have never had any employee bother us.
