Really nice facility if you need a darkroom..And the owner/instructor is always there to help out anyway possible. Just a very nice considerate Englishman. Complete darkroom facilities for a very fair price.

As time ticks on in life, I find myself drawn back to the past. For me, that meant black-and-white analog photography and the darkroom. It had been decades since I last darkroomed, but retirement gave me the time to dive back in. I discovered a school in Los Angeles on Google, and its glowing ratings drew me in. I talked with Andrew over a few weeks; he’s a great communicator and genuinely inviting. I enrolled in my first class, stepped into the darkroom, and had an amazing experience. I never thought I’d want to shoot street photography, but that became our first assignment: go out and shoot for two hours. I thoroughly enjoyed it, stepping out of my bubble and having a fantastic time. Back in the darkroom the next day, it was thrilling to see what would print from what I imagined. About 50% of my images came out the way I anticipated, which felt pretty good for a first try. I can’t recommend this place enough. I’m looking forward to private lessons, more group classes, and the Tuesday or Thursday night sessions a couple of times a month for developing film with others. Thank you—this was a great class.
