Bruce helped my fiancé and I set up our camera and brought us through the museum attached to the store. It was genuinely such a fantastic experience. We came in for an SD card and left with the best history lesson I’ve been to! City of Pittsburgh officials if you are reading this, designate this shop a landmark and protect it at all costs. We’ll be back soon!

I don’t usually leave a review, but here it is: The person I met with at Bernie’s seemed fine. However, the markup on film is wild. For an 8 pack of Polaroid 600 film, they were trying to charge me $30. I’ve bought film practically all over - throughout my many travels and I have never encountered this. If you are in the Pittsburgh area and need film, go to Target or Walmart. I was excited to support a small business, but this one will never get my business. They’re just taking advantage of folks who may not know any better.

Friend of mine recommended Bernie's after I got back into photography with a Nikon D3400 that I needed a lens for about a year ago. Made the trip up from Virginia just to do this since most stuff I would rather go to a store for than buy online, but stuff like this I will not buy online and would rather pick up in person just to make sure it works with the camera(I try do do the same with ham radio stuff also). Tested it out on the spot and the owner is really nice. Definitely going back for more here soon.

I had a great experience getting a vintage camera repaired and lenses cleaned. This is a great location to purchase cameras, lenses, film and supplies but also likely the best place to get your equipment serviced. Additionally, Bruce helped me figure out a new lens to choose for my 35mm and took his time in showing me my options.
