Armadillo Camera

I drove 200 miles to see this camera store and left with the best experience I’ve had in a long time! The owner and his staff were so kind and welcoming and even gave me some advice on selling photos. He showed me around the print area and I was very impressed. I left with a R5 Mk ii and the next day I decided to order a RF 100-500. The box got to me very fast and the packaging was phenomenal. I will support this business from now on. I’m extremely happy I made the drive and I recommend you do the same.

The last true camera shop within 300 miles or more. They have all the new and modern equipment you could ask for as well as a studio you can rent, equipment you can rent, and even used equipment in great shape at great prices. They also have film cameras and film! And the film is affordable! I picked up 2 rolls of B&W 400 for less than I could find online before I found this gem of a store. The people are extremely friendly and are passionate about photography. They send film off for development, and do custom prints in-house. The work I have seen them do is absolutely top-notch. I love this store and will be making several return visits.

Having grown up with a family having its own business, I love the opportunity to support "local" businesses. I say "local" in quotes as I drove the 2 hours from Lubbock to buy at this store. They are Amarillo’s closest actual camera shop. My experience started with submitting questions via their website where Logan replied promptly. I then had a handful of emails with him before driving today to see cameras in person. I gave no pretense of having any clue what I was doing—just my goals and initial research. Logan and the two other employees were super helpful, answered questions, offered suggestions, and never gave me any feeling they were trying to up sell me anything. Logan was super kind and answered questions and provided guidance. I highly recommend these folks!! Yes I could have paid the same price from the comfort of my home via online stores but being able to talk with people who are actual photographers with experience and who can look you in the eye and shake your hand is worth 4 hours on the road any day! Armadillo Camera is the BEST! I don’t buy my gear anywhere else because why would I? They have the best customer service and have supported me SO much in my photography journey. Kait especially has been such a huge help! This Christmas she helped me find a the perfect gift for my impossible-to-buy-for father in law. Thank you, Armadillo Camera, for everything! It’s always a joy to stop by!

Armadillo Camera is the best place we have ever been too ! First off Sasha the girl on the phone is super nice and very helpful . Once we made the commute from 2 hours away to get our DJI balanced she was able to set us up with Logan who is a professional in all of this . He set it up within seconds of us handing it to him and explained it in ways that made sense to us . We have our first wedding coming soon and he saved us so much time and money by giving us his insight . We will definitely schedule a 1 on 1 with him for more of his expertise on editing and any other tools he will recommend to us for the better of our business . We will be back and we will recommend Armadillo camera and all of the staff here to anyone . Also a huge thank you to the whole staff who came out to look for a screw we needed for our equipment . This truly is a positive , friendly , family oriented and great environment that is unlike any other camera store we have been to .

I’ve gone to Armadillo before it changed ownership/location and haven’t gone again until today. Refreshing! Great location/store. Sasha was very pleasant and Larry answered and troubleshooted my point&shoot film camera at no cost!!! Very knowledgeable. Would come back again.

Lauren was so helpful with getting me setup with my camera and not judging me for being a rookie. Larry also came in clutch with getting a beautiful print made immediately. Great customer service.
