Lake Harriet South Beach

Scenic Spot with Boats, Planes, and City Views Besides watching small sailboats, airplanes landing, and the stunning city skyline, the surrounding residential area is filled with increasingly luxurious homes—each one more impressive than the last. ⛵️🚣‍♀️🚤 The layout is thoughtfully designed: the inner path is perfect for jogging and leisurely walks, while the outer lane is dedicated to a one-way bike path. 🚴🏼🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ It’s a well-organized space where everyone can enjoy their activity of choice!

Beautiful Lake. I went during the evening hours and it was very scenic. Lot of walking and biking lanes are present around the lake for activities. Car 🚗 parking 🅿️ can be done on the side of road 🛣️ for quick view of the lake. Sit on a bench and enjoy the beauty of nature ☺️ it's very soothing 😍 Attaching a video for reference thanks.

Lake Harriet is nestled into a lovely, walkable neighborhood and great for sunset. The beach is nice in the summer, although I usually check the MPRB website to check water health before swimming. Generally, this beach is quieter than the other side of the lake.

Nice little beach. Great place to meet and walk around the lake. The lake itself is about 2.7 mi. The beach is currently closed for the season due to algae, but there are many other activities you can still do. There is a portable potty located across the street which makes it convenient to get to. There is no parking lot for the beach, but streetside parking is plentiful. The side streets are free and not heavily used during the day.

Absolutely gorgeous lake. I was visiting Minnesota. This lake is near my brother's home and I went here twice during my Thanksgiving visit to walk around it. It's so peaceful, calm and serene. I enjoyed every moment around it. My fitbit said it was 2.75 miles around the whole lake which took me 50 minutes my first day and 45 minutes my second day. I would say I had a pretty good walking speed going so if you're going for a leisure walk, expect to walk a little longer.

People of Minneapolis you should feel very lucky to have such an amazing path system around this small lake in the city. If you are from a not so bike friendly city like me, you should check it. Great place to spend a few hours relaxing by the lake and riding around it with the backdrop of the city.

Either the beach just hasn’t been maintained, AT ALL, and parking, though it’s free right across the street, is for a dozen cars at most. It used to be my favorite, now it seems to be overlooked.
