Went for Nightshift on a few weekday evenings, a solid goto for house music when other venues are closed during the week. A good variety of local djs, space is small but good sound system. Seating is good outside, but only one stool inside which isn’t ideal. Staff is overall good, responsive when someone fell one time I was there. I appreciate the no cover when arriving around 11pm. Vibe is pretty concrete industrial, just wish there was better seating!
A hidden gem for fans of underground music and local artists. The space has a grungy cool vibe and the performances were raw and passionate. Great for a more authentic local experience away from the overly commercial bars in Hollywood. Went here for the afters, cool people.
The DJ, people, and bartenders were amazing — I bought multiple drinks and had a great time inside. But as I was leaving, the security completely killed the vibe. I was literally walking out when one of them tried to kick me out for no reason, laughing with his friends and acting unprofessional. I left because I know my value — no one deserves that kind of disrespect after supporting a business.
During such a difficult time it is so hard to find a place where comedians can step up and speak out in the name of humor and healing. Also local businesses had a chance to set up booths and build new relationships with affordable prices but incredible value on specialty handmade products. The comedy show is incredible, but what was even more incredible? Or the price of the drinks, I of course cannot drink alcohol but, I had a chance to spend $30 to buy four people drinks both alcoholic and non-and be able to tip $10 to the very hard-working staff. The comedy show was incredible these brave men and women kept it going and even though it was hard for the audience to settle in at first, the first three comics braved the melancholy response and kept warming up the audience for what would be a truly amazing show. In support of Artists they brought in people to take pictures and conduct interviews to give the comedians something to help build their careers. They always say a price is temporary, but value is forever, and I believe the work that was done at this place creates value for both business, performers, in the audience at large that’s what you call a community it didn’t start here, but it got better by building itself up here here.
Great place! Loved it. Good vibes.
This bus a cool little downtown spot, the atmosphere is inviting, with black chalk walls of famous greats like James Dean, Audrey Hepburn and Marilyn Monroe just to name a few. However on this night the great performer was MY SON @yungcnote #yungnote he was the only rapper representing LA at this rap palooza FROM LA TO THE BAY and I was so proud of his performance. Had a comedy show here last night and it was really fun. This was my 1st time here and I was happy to see the turnout. The only thing missing is a stage for the performers. It's hard to see from the back. They were smart and sold tables online for family groups to sit together and individual tickets at the door. Plus there was parking and a food truck at the entrance.
