The Bar at 316

I see the comments about racism but I have NEVER experienced such a thing here!! Not to degrade anyone’s experience, buuut this place never gave that vibe!! Every time I’m here I see a mixed crowd of people with EVERYONE having fun together and enjoying EVERY SHADE of person! Are you kidding!! Their are regulars of this place that are EVERY SHADE!! But they CAN be extremely busy and yea ofc you can mistake a busy bartender (one is usually the owner) for an attitude. But they’re BUSY and don’t want to WASTE time!! This place is amazing!! If you want a more personal experience than Scorpio’s COME HERE!’

Cover charge to essentially go into a frat house for a night. Only two bathrooms on the first floor, be prepared to go downstairs and wait in line anytime you need to use the washroom. Service was slow inside. Patio had plenty of seating with a quick wait to get a drink. Cash only for cover charge and drinks on the patio, dissapointing for 2021. Very young crowd. Drink prices were not consistent throughout the bar.

It’s a nice place to hear nice music and share with friends o just drinking . I really like the design, lights and sound.

316 is not a safe space for anyone. There are so many insidious stories that come from this establishment and it's owner. For starters, they for years have been charging people for drinks they did not order. I personally closed out on a 2-drink tab and then left the bar. The next day I saw an extra charge for $60+ despite not even staying for the full 2-drinks. When discussing this with others, pretty much everyone had the same experience. If you go, pay with cash and do not let them see your debit card. How they haven't been investigated for credit card fraud is beyond me. It's also just not a safe space, even if you don't factor in the deplorable owner. Just a few months ago, someone died after leaving with someone they met at the bar. Sure, 316 likely didn't have a direct cause in that death, but they sure created the environment conducive to the act. There's also the racism, vandalism, DUIs, etc too.

When I last visited 316, the owner was racist to my Asian best friend, was rude as hell to all of us, and literally told us to get out when we got mad at him for being racist. The other bartenders seemed to just accept that this is how he is, though otherwise they seemed nice and friendly enough. The crowd was fine, and the decoration and atmosphere was actually exactly what we were looking for - but that owner! We left and never came back.

I have been twice, once for karaoke, once for a show. I was hesitant to go back a second time after reading bad reviews, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt. The bartenders were terrific, and the place was pretty crowded, so I had high hopes. But, the people who run it are absolutely ruining it. It had so much potential. They treat their employees, including their bartenders, and the performers that visit terribly. They degrade them, and yell at them, and it's probably the most unprofessionally ran establishment I've ever seen. Please spend your money with bar owners who actually treat their staff well, and treat performers that visit well, because this bar has no clue how to do that. Degrading people, yelling at them, and excluding them is not the move. Such a shame, this could've been a great thing.

I normally don't go to gay bars but I'm from California visiting with my homosexual friend so we went. Neat place. They have karaoke and I was able to smoke a blunt in the back with no problem haha. The bartender was cool too. Cheap too.
