Toad Hall was a good spot — simple and straightforward, exactly what you’d expect. Drinks and service were solid and nothing to fuss over. The vibe was relaxed and easygoing, perfect for a low-key night out. Music kept the energy nice without being too much. Overall, a good place to stop by and enjoy the evening.

Fun gay bar that does largely top forty. Good for tourists because the dj set is shockingly similar every night you go. It has a good outside area that can be used to cool down after you are dancing. The patio can be a bit heavy in smoking

The former Pendulum is now Toad Hall. Despite the odd name, we had lots of fun here where we ended our night of bar hopping. ATMOSPHERE: The place has been totally remodeled. It's now airier and brighter, and sports a good sized dance floor, big bar, a few high tops, and a small back room which I peeked into. It's the most "clubby" vibe I've experienced in the Castro so far, better than Badlands IMO. The room was also perfectly lit, not dark and shady like at other places. The crowd was a mix of ages and personalities, dancing to a blend of pop, dance, and R&B. SERVICE: We sat at the bar and received fast and friendly service from the male bartender. He kept the bar top clean and drinks flowing. Beer prices were average. OVERALL: Nice digs, friendly staff and patrons, great place to dance.

I normally don’t leave reviews, but I feel this one is necessary. I paid $10 to get into this bar and was just enjoying myself — sober, dancing alone, not bothering anyone. About 20 minutes in, out of nowhere, one of the staff came up and asked me to leave. No explanation, no warning, nothing. Meanwhile, the place was packed and pretty rowdy, but for some reason I was the one singled out. I didn’t argue — I just left. But it felt completely unfair and unprofessional. If there was a reason, they never told me. It honestly ruined my night. Would not recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful or welcoming environment. Save your money and go somewhere that treats paying customers with basic decency.

I had a great time there last night! The music was nice, and there were lots of good-looking people. The environment was great; they had water available and easy to get self serve, which is always a good idea, but something I rarely see in bars like that. I will definitely come back.

I think the most important think, wherever place, it is the guest service, and we are come from different countries, but the people of the bar of the bar it is not really nice, dont smile, and when you are gonna to pay they say "dont forget the tip" it was incredible.
