Hale Pele

10/10 tiki bar! This is as close to being "on the island" as you’ll find. The atmosphere is top notch with a low lit ambiance and music that sets the mood without overpowering. One of my favorite aspects is the aroma. It’s something that is subtle yet distinct and adds to the experience. Upon entering, you are invited to stay in the waiting area with drink service until you are able to get a seat. This place truly offers it all. From a fun and attentive staff with great service (shoutout to bartenders Rene and Miriam) to incredible drinks and food. I recommend ordering a drink that makes sparks fly (literally) and trying the edamame and Hawaiian bread as fun appetizers!

We didn’t get any food, but the drinks were so good! I got two drink. The nocturnal engagement (created by our waitress) and a pain killer. They were both delicious. Our waitress was very helpful and engaging with us. The service was great and quick. We are visiting family and we will definitely be back during our next visit.

Always a great experience at Hale Pele. Great atmosphere. Delicious Tiki Drinks. If you arrive and there's a line, don't get discouraged, as the seats tend to become avaliable relatively quickly. We didn't eat, we just had a drink and left a out was the end of the night. Can't say how good the food is.

Hale Pele was such a fun experience. We went to celebrate my best friend’s 40th Birthday and had a blast. The drinks were delicious and also super fun and entertaining. The staff was incredibly friendly and the ambiance was so fun and relaxed. If you are looking for a fun place to hang with friends or celebrate definitely check this place out.

I've been making it a point to visit tiki bars this year. I'll say hands down, Hale Pele has had the most atmospheric and friendly service I've come across yet. The drinks and food are made incredibly well. I make it a point to try a specific drink at all the bars I go to. This is the first time I actually "get" what the drink is meant to taste like. The servers have their finger on the pulse of how frequent to come back and ask if you need anything. The whole place smells of spices and bonfire. So much so that I wish there was an incense or candle of it I could take home. Its packed on Fri Sat and still some on Sun but WELL worth the wait. go there for the experience. Stay going for the rum 😉

The Signal Fire was delicious. The place is packed but the wait was worth it for me . The service was average . Not bad . A little bit of improvement will make the difference. Overall I had a great time . Coming to Portland for vacation. Definitely recommend it to my people.

This place is an institution for a reason. The cocktails are some of the best in the city and the bartending staff are insanely talented. The food is also delicious, I need that deviled egg recipe!
