Fling Cocktail Lounge

This dive bar has live music seven days a week, and a very old school vibe. Surly bartenders and sometimes parking can be difficult but the drinks are strong and there have been very few changes since the 1970s. Worth a trip!

First impressions… One parking place is blocked by a discarded hot water heater and I notice a homeless contingent hanging out in the rear corner by one dumpster attempting to start a small camp fire. Nothing was stolen and they did not seem to bother anybody. There was one open parking spot by the rear door but I was chased away by a rather large and loudmouth redhead with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth. Evidently she has decided to own that parking spot so she can power down some more healthy cigarettes in between her failed attempts at serving customers. This is Santa Ana after all. Citizen Okane did a good job with the tunes and the crowd was mostly senior citizens on this particular Saturday night. I only stayed for part of the first set due to fear that carrot-top grande would step on my foot or breathe on me. Yikes! If you can’t get a seat at the bar, it might make for a rather disappointing experience.

The live bands are fun but they are too loud for such a small place. The other problem is that it is small. Not much room to sit or walk around once it gets full. Drinks are normal, staff are friendly, but the bands need to turn the volume down a but. The crowd is older couples that just sit and watch.

Great little bar with live music. Friendly and attentive staff and a fun atmosphere. A really great bar to go to after dinner or for a fun date. The live band sounds amazing and plays a variety of classic hits.

Great music almost every night the bartenders are fast, friendly and make the BEST drinks!!

Fling has been a consistently great place to hang out on the weekend. If you don't like live music, generous drinks and outstanding service, please go somewhere else. It's a small venue so we don't need it cluttered with people who don't appreciate it. The one downside is that there's no food options. Missed opportunity for the burger place right next door too.
