Murphy's Mansion
Murphy’s Mansion stands out as a spacious African-themed lounge in Dallas, blending a lively atmosphere with a diverse entertainment scene. The spot is well-equipped with pool tables, ping pong, and a dance floor, making it ideal for social gatherings. While the food selection, particularly Nigerian dishes like fried tilapia and Jollof rice, receives praise for its bold flavors, some guests note inconsistencies in preparation or presentation.
Service experiences vary—friendly staff can occasionally be slow, and drink quality may not always meet expectations. The venue’s renovated interiors and energetic vibe, however, create a welcoming environment for those seeking an African-inspired nightlife experience. Drinks are affordably priced, though occasional hiccups in card payments or menu availability may arise.

The fish meal came highly recommended and it was tasty, a good choice to consider for Nigerian meals. Large with plenty sitting option and the atmosphere is popping
The Suya is delicious. I haven’t been during the evening in a while. They have done some renovations things look nice. The service can be slow but they have always been friendly.
I been searching for a good African vibe and thought this was the spot. Where can I start . Let me begin with the positives although there isn’t many but the food was amazing ! Now to the negatives, the bartender, she had such a nasty attitude, all arms crossed as if she was the queen and had to be worshipped. I told her what I wanted and she kept saying she couldn’t hear me even though I was screaming and she said " you either speak up or you ain’t getting no drink" then she stomps her foot and leaves the bar . I got my drink from the other bartender without any issues. She had such an uninviting attitude and quite honestly it was the worst I have ever seen and I travel a lot. The waitresses were sitting around doing absolutely nothing , not even checking if I needed something else. But the music was great! But very loud for a place that’s half empty.
I went on a Saturday night. It was a nice crowd, not too crowded. We were able to get a table quickly ordered drinks called back that a** up ( it was not good) it was supposed to had been a margarita with some added liquor! It was like a water ice with liquor on top! Too too sweet. We also ordered a straight shot of cognac and a beer. For dinner I ordered a whole tilapia fish the options were fried or grilled, I ordered mines fried. It came with vegetables( some type of greens) they were good! Seasoned very well. The fish was pretty good it was a little salty but that may have been the sauce they put on the fish, it came with plantain. Ordered a side of Jollof rice (Al La cart). We also ordered fish pepper soup (very spicy) but good! This place was decent had a live DJ pool tables ping pong table a dance floor etc. I would return, maybe not for food but I hang out.
The servers were corrupt. They wanted cash or Zelle instead of using a card, claiming the card machine was broken. When I spoke to another server, she said the machine hasn't been down at all and she made sure to call out the server. All of a sudden I was able to close my tab. Corrupt! Corrupt servers!
Ate here 2 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. Took a while for someone to acknowledge me and give me a menu which was old and worn out. My 1st 2 choices of oxtail or roti were not available. The waitress was very kind and sat down and explained a new cook had taken over and was still getting up to speed. I opted for the curry goat but was informed they ran out of rice and peas so I had to have plain white rice as one side and chose collards as the other. (I like rice to soak up the gravy) When my plate arrived I was disappointed to see there really wasn't any gravy, just a few pieces of boneless goat with fat on them, a couple of potatoes, and one sliver of carrot. One of the pieces of meet was hard and dried out like it had been stuck to the bottom of the pot. I found the collards salty but ok. The taste of the goat was also ok but nothing special. My meal was served with plastic utensils and a small plastic cup of water. For 25.99 I was definitely expecting more. They also charge a credit card fee.
Murphy’s is an African club/lounge and they are now the new home of Venittis. Do you get two clubs in one. There’s a bar when you first walk in but service wasn’t so great, cups weren’t as clean, took a while and a few times to ask for my debit card back. Where as inside the other club that bartender was great. Nothing like Murphy side. It’s a large building they have a few pool tables and outside area as well. I didn’t have the chance to try the food. Yet it smelled good . Drinks are kind of cheap
