Customer Reviews
The Mint Karaoke Lounge has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 779 reviews on Google
Our group of adults—all well over 40—had a terrible experience at Mint Karaoke. The man at the door was unbelievably rude from the start. One of our friends forgot their physical ID, but we had multiple other ways to verify age—and he still treated us with total disrespect. She had left and came back in with other proof. But he still handled it wrong. Instead of handling it professionally, he spoke to us like we were causing trouble, even saying "Don’t mess with me," as if we were about to fight him. Completely unnecessary and uncalled for. It’s not what you say—it’s how you say it. We ended up leaving and had a much better time at the sushi bar next door—great vibes, friendly people—and then headed off to Pandora Karaoke where the staff actually knew how to treat customers right. Mint Karaoke? Never again. No experience is worth being spoken to like that.
Five stars. The Mint Karaoke Lounge is one of my favorite bars in the world. I have been coming here for about a decade, and it is still the place I look forward to the most. It is fun whether you arrive with a group or walk in solo. It is so easy to meet people and blend in with the regulars because the atmosphere is always positive and welcoming. All ranges of singers get support here, from first timers to serious performers. The crowd cheers everyone on which makes the whole night feel relaxed and memorable. The song list is huge, the sound is clear, and the staff is always helpful with getting songs set up fast. There are many beers on tap and also bottles, plus great drinks from the bar. If you are looking for a San Francisco karaoke lounge that has real community energy and an amazing mix of people from all over the Bay Area, The Mint Karaoke Lounge is it. I cannot recommend it enough.
Food rating equals drinks. Poorly made and expensive. I have lived in SF since 2009. Tonight I thought, why have I not been to this place since 2013?!?! Came out tonight and realized they're still stuck in 2013. Sticky carpets and bad drinks aside this is a karaoke place that has the MOST limited list of songs I've seen! I don't think the bar knows about this thing called the Internet. Literally multiple bars in the Castro host 10X better karaoke nights based off of understanding that you need to stay modern and have a FAR better selection than they have here. This will be the last time I choose to come here without a gun to my head. I don't think it's too late for them to do 3 things to save their slowly dying establishment. 1) All songs can be looked up and played through the Internet. Get rid of this book of music that is SO limited it's just, " I Will Survive" and the A, B, C's 2) Drinks should be made well and at least 2 - 4 dollars cheaper. 3) For the love of Gaga, remove the carpet and pat the extra money for decent cleaning. Walking into your space you get BLASTED with the smell of bleach. It makes everything that follows that much worse.
To be able to sing a song you have to order at least 2 drinks. Only one request from.a person at the time, no matter now many people are in line and how long to wait. Not the best karaoke place. Not recommended.
Great vibes, nice bar with drinks. There is a stage and the crowd is all friendly. Friday evening was pretty full but we got a good spot. Nice place if you want to celebrate a birthday or just have fun with friends. Highly recommend. Prices of drinks are also reasonable. Location is good.
Good equipment for karaoke set up. It can be busy some days, found out there were 35 people ahead of me to sing one time. Also the online song list is outdated, the bar seems to have a similar amount of songs like the karaoke bar.
Literally my FAVORITE place in San Francisco! A total gem, I’ve been coming here every visit to SF for the past 15 years and since moving here from NYC I’ve moved down the street. The MINT is a magical place, inclusive, fill of joy - you can feel the community and love here. A perfect place to celebrate your birthday - reserve on their website, and you can bring in a cake, order sushi (vegan options!) from next door, and they’ll even have the whole place sing happy birthday to you just request it! My suggestion to have the MOST fun and magical time - come and cheer on strangers! Really listen and sing along with people you’ve never met and will never see again. Compliment them after their song, there’s no better therapy for this overly tech distracted world right now than supporting other humans and enjoying music together. Important - there’s no cover (vs private karaoke rooms) so to support this indie business remember it’s a 2 drink minimum per person! Cash only, but they have an ATM. To sing a Song, you must tip the songmaster in cash. This is like any service business, support the amazing staff ♥️ I’m so grateful to the mint and their staff for existing, for creating some of my best memories of the last decade. Thank you all for all you do
