Really good first experience! The bartender was doing double duty and doing their best with recommendations and seating. HIGHLY recommend the lamb ragu and toffee bread pudding! While the inside was busy and loud, the outside seating was nice and had heat.

The Citizen and their fantastic staff hosted our Christmas party for 16 people with an absolutely stunning pig feast. The food was excellent, the cocktails and whisky perfect, and the kindness and attentiveness of the staff was of the highest caliber. Thank you to all of you for such an incredible evening. We will be back - often!

The irony is that all my companions tonight were not fans of either whiskey nor raw seafood, the two specialties of Citizen Public House, but thankfully all the other food and drink options were plentiful and very delicious! The spicy deep fried pickles were super addictive, the endive winter salad was so flavorful with a very nose-tingly horseradish dressing, cauliflower cream pan fried gnocchi was divine, and especially enjoyed the duck pot pie with root veggies. Our server was so charismatic, attentive and kind. Could not recommend coming here enough! And would love to come back and try their raw seafood bar 🙂

I enjoyed my drinks and food 😋 Oneka at the bar answered all questions regarding whiskey and bourbon. This place has absolutely great whiskey brands from different part of the world. You'd want to go her for liquor🥃🍸

Came here before a Red Sox game. Lucky we got in, Id suggest a reservation if possible! A good selection of raw bar items from oysters, to clams to lobster and crab. We dined on 12 oysters which were delicious and fresh! We snacked on the fried pickles and peppers. Good amount for the price and a nice dip on the side! For the mains we went with the cod dinner and fish and chips. The cod was buttery and cooked perfectly. The fish and chips fish was lightly breaded and crispy, the fries were overly salty and had another salty seasoning as well which was not enjoyable. Overall a great dining experience , friendly staff and reasonably pricing. Did you like drinking whiskey? This place is also for you if you enjoy that!

I've been coming to Citizens for years, it's my favorite bar in Boston! We love all of the bartenders, especially our girl Kate! I do think the menu fell off hard since the reopen. It used to be hard to decide what to get between the gnocchi, risotto, sliders, etc. that were all amazing. Now I find myself having a hard time deciding what to eat because the new menu has been meh. The gnocchi tastes good, but $19 for three little logs of pasta was disappointing. I get trying to elevate your menu, but please at least bring back the late night sliders for Red Sox season!
