I think this is a great local establishment. They make you feel real comfortable. They're highly educated in the subject. They make sure that if you have any kind of immune issues that it will be safe for you and everyone else to enjoy by still requiring masks. I think that's very thoughtful because even immune compromise people want to have some fun. They offer lots of amazing classes and always seem to be giving something away to the community. They're a very inclusive business and I love that support local. Go check them out

We care about purchasing products that do not have lots of chemicals and Self Serve is one of the only places that sells these and I’d rather support a local company. However, upon walking into the store on a beautiful Saturday afternoon in 2024, there was a sign on the front door that said, " masks required." I thought, maybe this is old. One of those things people forget to take down. Then on the second door, there was another sign that said "masks required." We opened the door to see two employees in an empty store far from the door wearing masks. I said, " so we have to wear masks?" And they replied that they had some for us. My boyfriend and I looked at eachother and immediately left. What kind of "woke" agenda does a sex shop have that in 2024 they require masks? I’m not giving my money to a store who tells me what to wear over my face. It’s like Handmaiden’s Tale… people thinking they care about the welfare of others while telling people what to do and how to behave and what to wear. It’s actually ridiculous!!! The owner of Self Serve is part of the problem, not fixing the problem. Acting like it’s some kind of moral high ground when it’s actual oppression to tell others what to do. Don’t go here if you want to give your money to people that have an agenda. All I wanted was some coconut paraben free lube for a good time. Is that too much to ask?

I love Self Serve so much! Women owned and so welcoming to everyone! I know I can get expert advice from the friendly staff on products that are safe and excellent quality. I've bought items before, during, and after my pregnancy and have never been disappointed or unhappy with any purchase. Also Self Serve is a warm and friendly environment where any question is met with respect and non-judgement. A truly wonderful resource and Albuquerque treasure.

Self Serve is and continues to be an invaluable resource for sex positivity and supplies, for me and anyone I have previously referred. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and non-judgmental. The premises are inviting and cozy. It is my top recommendation for quality products and a welcoming environment where you can learn new things and ask questions as well as shop. I am happy this store exists.

My partner and and I attended a class at Self Serve that was very inclusive. The class was awesome and it ended up being a great destination for our date night:) The shop is very wholesome and has a much different vibe than your average sex shop. Highly recomended! I found the lube to be very very high quality. They seemed expensive the first time I bought them but the large Containers provide good value and ensure you have enough on hand:)

This is the best sex shop in Albuquerque, hands down! The selection is excellent, the staff are super knowledgeable and friendly, and the vibe is super welcoming and inclusive all around. I have learned much from the wonderful folks who work here. I'm a better lover, a better communicator, a better person all around because of Self Serve.
