I reached out to Black Pearl Bookstore with a vision to weave more reading and Black culture into our AMLI communities, and they exceeded every expectation. They sent an incredible representative, Micah, to host our event, and he was a total game-changer. Micah has this effortless "cool" and engaging energy that is hard to find; he kept the conversation flowing and shared such genuine pride for both the bookstore and the power of reading. He turned a simple gathering into a truly heartfelt social event where neighbors actually felt like a community. We also purchased "All About Love" by bell hooks for our residents through them, and it has been the perfect recommendation—such a powerful, timely read. If you are looking for a bookstore that cares about community, culture, and connection, look no further. We are already so excited to plan our next event with them!

I can’t express how much my family loves Black Pearl Books. They treat us like royalty every time we walk in. It is truly a community-driven place. It is family-owned. They have great bookmarks, shirts and, of course, books! I love that they carry "banned" books, which really emphasizes the Austin spirit. Oh, they have an amazing Book Store candle as well - I highly recommend trying it out! This store is on my family’s list of regulars. We love them!

The is bookstore is a true Austin gem. They have a plethora of books and other cool items such as puzzles, bookmarks, jewelry, totes, funny stickers, and other fun but personable gifts and things. The venue has a small event space you can reserve. It honestly felt like home because it was so vibey! A huge thank you to the owners for crafting such a stunning space for us and being so warm and welcoming. Your vision and team are truly inspiring! We can’t wait to come back.

Black Pearl was on my wife's "Must Visit" list in Austin and it honestly should be on yours too. This place was so cool. The space was laid out beautifully and had a very cozy feeling. They had banned books, kids books, and even free books. I highly suggest you pull up and let my guy give you a tour of the place. My wife and I will definitely be back.

Visiting Black Pearl Books was such an incredible experience. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcomed by Katrina and Eric, the amazing owners, and Micah, who was so helpful and kind. Their warmth and passion for books and community truly shine through every part of the store. The book selection is outstanding. Each title feels thoughtfully chosen to highlight diverse voices and powerful stories that deserve to be read and shared. It is the kind of bookstore where you discover books you did not even know you needed. Beyond the books, they also carry beautiful art, fun coffee table books, unique cards, totes, bookmarks, and so many more giftable items. You can easily spend hours browsing and still want to come back for more. Black Pearl Books is more than a bookstore. It is a space filled with culture, connection, and inspiration. Supporting them means supporting a Black-owned business that is making a real difference in how stories are told and shared. This is a five-star gem in Austin and absolutely worth the visit. Finally stopped by for the first time and I’m so impressed! The staff actually took the time to walk me through the different sections, which was such a welcoming touch. It’s a beautiful, well organized space with a really thoughtful curated selection. I will definitely be back

This is my happy place. I spend a lot of time at local bookstores, and Austin is lucky to have many options, but this is my number one. The family who owns it is the best. I love their selection, rewards program, and events. Especially the open mic nights! I will continue to give this local gem as much of my money as possible - join me in supporting them!
