Forbidden Fruit

Very weird interaction with an employee who jumped into a conversation me and my partner were having, quietly discussing the odd look of the vintage toys on display, between ourselves and made us feel very uncomfortable. The employee then stormed off to the back exclaiming that we were ridiculous (for not wanting to be verbally harassed and corrected over what animal the shape of a vintage toy was designed in) unfortunately we immediately left after being embarrassed by the only employee in front of other customers. We will not be shopping here again as all parties included seemed extremely uncomfortable by the situation this employee caused.

Amelie was the person who helped me today. They were incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I've visited a few shops around Austin, and though Forbidden Fruit is small, the staff always maintain a nonjudgmental approach, which is crucial to feeling safe, secure, and confident in your purchase. Forbidden Fruit is truly a gem in Austin, and they support local creators as well. Love them!

Absolutely love this store. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable without being overbearing, pushy, or otherwise making you feel weird about a sometimes taboo feeling subject. The product array is really large and staff can order you some items that aren't available in store. They also kept information about an item I bought almost a year before, which helped me file a warranty claim with the manufacturer and get a replacement. Support this place, a locally owned small business, rather than ordering these items online.

First off, the customer service was great, very nice, very helpful, and willing to answer any questions I needed to know about the products. Overall, this is a nice cozy store that I can't wait to go back to.

It's kind of my hobby to wander through adult stores worldwide. I've seen many types and varieties. Forbidden Fruit could be my new favorite. This was my first visit to Forbidden Fruit, and a very positive one. Things I really appreciated were: the open box policy where the boxes were open to take toys and look, feel, smell, or whatever; there weren't all the cheap usual brands mixed in with quality items; the variety was excellent (many choices of nipple clamps, medical toys, clitoral simulators, books, anal play and more) while the bachelorrette area wasn't overdone in comparison; the person working wasn't intrusive yet was knowledgeable and helpful; there are educational programs you can attend! In all, I was very pleased with my experience of the store and left with a new toy in support of such a business and most importantly for my upcoming pleasure!

Forbidden Fruit is one of the best, most sex positive businesses in Austin. I have found their staff to be helpful and friendly. They have a great stock of items. They also carry items made by local artists. I also appreciate that they offer classes that enhance my relationships. I highly recommend them!
