Spencer's

Like most of the (non-fake) reviews that I’m seeing, me and my friends were borderline harassed by the store staff. They were extremely rude from the moment we entered the store, and acted as though we were not welcome. We could hear them talking about us close to our vicinity. I won’t be returning, and I will be discouraging my friends from ever going. Spencer’s, please talk to your staff about professionalism and not profiling your customers. As an aside, we saw visible dirt on the adult toys in the back.

2 stars for the service. Yesterday I went into the store with my friend and looked around. In the back of the store, an employee interrupted us and said we needed to be with an adult. She didn’t even ask if we were adults… My friend and I stood polite and said we were both 19 and I offered to show my ID. The employee said we needed to be 21+ to look around at the back of the store and told us to leave. She was extremely rude. It looked like she made that up completely and upon further research there’s no Spencer’s policy that mentions being over the age of 21. It always is you have to be 18 and up. Won’t be returning, and I would like to report that employee for poor service.

From the moment we walked into the store, we had the manager following us. It felt targeted as there were plenty of other couples in the store but we were the only ones followed. It was so uncomfortable, I just couldn’t shop because the manager kept walking back and forward watching us and slamming the door to the back room. Then at some point he was directly behind us pretending to fix posters as we were browsing. How do you expect people to shop when you’re harassing them at every point in the store?

First of all, I went to Spencer’s and one of the managers came up to me and my friends, at Bay Plaza, and we’re just skimming around to see what’s good and what isn’t good because we want something with quality. One of the managers came up to us and asks us if we need help with anything. We politely decline, but he was very persistent, and it was very uncomfortable. We’re old enough to be in the store (18+) and it would be one thing to ask for our age, but to constantly ask us in a negative manner what we’re looking for is disgusting. We are three girls and a manager who is male, mind you, is following us around the store while we’re looking for private items. Do not come to the store at this address if you’re looking for a comfortable space to shop for sexual intimacy items.

I hate HATE HAAAAATE this store with a passion. I can just be browsing and immediately I am followed around. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I don't even go to the Bay Plaza Mall often either. This has happened on multiple occasions that I just don't even stop by anymore. The last time I've ever purchased anything from here must have been 2015-2017. Check your damn employees, they gonna get popped by someone who's not me. 😐

The black employee with the white shirt asked if me and my cousins were over 18 and to prove with ID when we were at the back. All my cousins were 18 except me. Which is weird cuz I’ve have been to the back multiple times before this and no one has told me anything, theres no sign to saying "no under 18 past this point" keep in mind im 15 and know about that stuff. The whole encounter he was trying to act nonchalant with a serious tone and face. Killed the vibe for sure an employee that takes their job way to seriously.
