Spencer's

This place was a staple in any good mall back in the 90s, so I was SO HAPPY to see this store while visiting Huntsville! The music selection was great (nice sound system), and there were plenty of fun and naughty novelty items. I even found a dope Golden Girls t-shirt sold at 2/$22. Talking about 90s prices!! Despite the intentional clutter, the store was well clean and well organized. The staff was SUPER friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. I appreciate this Spencers location for providing a consistent experience for decades now!

i was just here with my 2 friends who were both purchasing vibrators. when the first when up to purchase the employee (who i unfortunately did not get the name of) asked my friend if it was her first time purchasing one and she shook her head no. she tried to sell wipes to clean it and my friend turned it down. she then scoffed and asked her what she used to clean it and my friend responded with soap which is a broad statement and the employee RUDELY replied about how that was wrong and continued to try and upsell the wipes saying how her ph balance could be thrown off and then advised my friend to "do research." it was all said with an attitude and very passive aggressively. it genuinely felt like a humiliation ritual how she was acting about buying a VIBRATOR saying it was a "medical device" in alabama and maybe it is but that woman has absolutely no idea the knowledge my friend already has on them. we brushed it off and my second friend went to buy one as well and my friend said how she was going to buy the wipes and she LOUDLY made it a point (in front of my other friend) to say "WE LOOOOVE CLEANLINESSSS!!!!"…. like genuinely are we serious… i understand it is their job to be informative but the way she went about that was completely unprofessional and rude.

I don't understand there point system never get points with any of my purchases. Received a $5 for my birthday and they refused to honor it because it would scan.

They’ve got some neat stuff in there but it is a bit too pricy for my taste and they don’t carry anything in store over 1X Large so that doesn’t help either.

I went in there today with my three year old who is pretty rambunctious, to look at earrings and just shop around. I guess the lady working could tell that he was giving me a hard time while I was looking for earrings so she went out of her way to get some colors and a piece of paper and color with him so I could continue to shop. I'm not sure if her name but she had an undercut and tattoos on her hands.to some this may not be a big deal but to me this was everything not only was I able to get what I needed but I also had help in more ways than one. I appreciate this so much and there needs to be more people like her out there. to go out of your way to help a customer with a kid is a pretty big deal in this world so thank you so much. The customer service was amazing and it didn't stop with her my son decided he wanted to get a little toy gumball machine at checkout and the guy behind the counter which I believe was a manager even opened it for him.

I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I used to shop in Spencer's frequently because that was the only place we would purchase our body jewelry, but not anymore. The female manager is rude beyond belief and and completely unprofessional. She can be so nice at times and even though we frequent the establishment and she knows us very well our last incounter was met with horrendous unkindness and she was quite frankly and unessisarely rude. 10/10 would not recommend.

As soon as I walked in, I was greeted gently and gingerly by a man, he looked me up and down with cautious but intrigued eyes, gazing into my very thoughts. He asked me if there was anything he could help me with, and I responded with a passing "No thank you, just looking." A wry smirk appeared on his face and he slinked back into the recesses of Spencer’s. I continued my search, my untailored and unsure bout inside the stores library of items. As I approached the wall of pleasure rods, with the intent of obtaining one, I felt a presence behind me, looming, waiting. A strong, firm hand grasped my shoulder, "do you need help with anything?" I fumbled on my words, my palms grew sweaty and my forehead beaded with perspiration in opalescent drops. It felt that the temperature had increased. I could only reply, "No." in my shock. He caressed me and replied, "if you’re looking for something a bit bigger, I can maybe find it for you in the back." I shook my head, terrified, and in my reluctance, he sighed and let go. His presence faded, and I never saw him again as I bolted out of the store. Please, if anyone knows this man, help me know he wasn’t a phantom of my mind, an apparition of my soul. A trick meant to haunt me in that godforsaken place.
