Stronghold Comics & Collectibles of Acadiana

I hadn't been there in years. Going through the area I stopped by the just check it out and was seriously impressed with the amount to comics they had. It was wall to wall books front the front door to the rear. It was a great stopping point and enjoyed the chat with the owners. Will definitely be going back when Im in town as it was a comic book enthusiast delight.

I used to come to this comic book shop as a kid, and even then I was nervous to go in. I remember Ms. Teresa always making me feel welcome. Now, almost two decades later, Ms. Teresa has retired, and my own kids are the same age I was when I first walked through those doors. The shop is now run by a local family and they’ve created the kind of welcoming, family atmosphere that makes customers—my family included—feel at home. The effort that has been put into constructing a welcoming comic shop experience is clear, should you need help they are more than happy to provide it, if you'd rather just spend an hour or two flipping through the large selection of comics and collectibles unbothered, they can provide that too. Stronghold is a Lafayette staple and whether you are a long time collector or just curious to see what's in store, you should absolutely give them a try.

They are the nicest, most helpful people I know. They have a great selection of comics. My family looks forward to going weekly to see what is new in the store. If you haven't been here, you have to try it out! You won't regret it.

I'm new to the area and I'm happy I stopped by I thought it was going to be a small location but after walking in the selection was huge and the store was way bigger than I expected for however long I live in Lafayette this is going to be a regular stop for me 10/10 would recommend to anyone💯

This is my new favorite Acadiana comic book store! The owners are knowledgeable, polite and caring people who clearly want to share what they have with everyone who walks through the door. The store has been remodeled, and it looks better than ever. Everything is clean and clearly organized. I have purchased and sold comic books here, and every experience has been positive. While I no longer keep up with monthly pulls because of money/space/time, they do offer this service to anyone who wants it. You can also find special editions properly marked and sealed for people looking to purchase limited run or signed comics. Highly recommended!

Great folks who run this shop. Personable, knowledgable, and helpful. Plus a great selection of books new and old.

I'll start this review off strong by saying that this is, hands down, the coolest LCS I have ever been to! The pricing here is amazing. I got a handful of comics for just a little over 20 dollars. To be fair, I was hanging out in the clearance section, which is also one of the highlights of this shop. They had so much variety here, but it wasn't overstimulating. It's very beginner friendly. My mom, who's knowledge of comics doesn't stretch past Skottie Young and reading comic trips from the news paper back in the '80s and '90s, was able to find something she was interested in. The staff are kind and very knowledgeable. They have tons of new releases. They even have a display for local artists, which I always love to see. But my favorite part of all.. this store is female friendly! I could sing the praises of this place for hours, but I really just beg of you to please check it out for yourself!
