The Last Bookstore is so cool! Unassuming from the outside but you walk into a wonderland of books. Different sections and levels with cool decor and structures. The aesthetics of each area is unique and fits the genre that it holds. I loved the tunnels made of books and there is a "hole in the wall" shaped out of books as well. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area just to check it out even if you are not looking for a particular book to purchase. Now for my standard comments. The location is clean and well kept.

The Last Bookstore is pure magic. This place feels less like a bookstore and more like a cathedral for books. The architecture alone is worth the visit—towering columns, high ceilings, hidden nooks, and multiple levels that invite you to wander without a plan. Every turn feels intentional, from the curated displays to the cozy corners where you can pause and actually be with a book. The selection is massive and thoughtfully organized, with both new and used books, plus art books, rare finds, and unexpected gems. Even the upstairs areas feel like a secret waiting to be discovered. It’s lively without being overwhelming, creative without being pretentious, and one of those rare spaces that reminds you why physical bookstores still matter. Whether you’re a serious reader or just soaking in the atmosphere, this is a must-visit stop in downtown LA. I could easily lose hours here—and happily would.

I went during an Food event just outside, it feels like a museum, but its not I get why people assume it's like something I find the establishment feeling being back Portland, Oregon or San Francisco guess I missed being home. Anyways impressed by the large assortment of books, I will comeback to get some of those Sigmund Freud for books big on Psychology. Also there's a coffee store on top can sip and read your book. Finally there's its pretty cramped up the floor cause there's many people that take pictures in the book tunnel which its okay, but those guys should courteous to there surroundings.

The Last Bookstore is one of those places that instantly pulls you in. It’s not just a bookstore — it feels like a creative space where literature, art, and curiosity collide. Beyond the massive book selection, there’s a café inside and several small art shops that make the whole place feel alive and layered. There are also iconic photo spots, like the famous tunnel made entirely of books and a framed opening that looks straight out of a surreal installation. Even if you’re not a big reader, it’s worth visiting just to wander, explore, and soak in the atmosphere. Perfect for taking your time, discovering unexpected corners, and leaving with more than you planned.

Reminds me of Strand Bookstore (NYC), but with a lot more decoration. Easy to get to, issue trying to locate genres just walking around as it's kinda a maze in the store, especially upstairs. But spent a long time just browsing the store. Good collections! It also has a small art gallery and coffee shop upstairs!

The Last Bookstore is such a cool place to visit, it’s more than just a bookstore. They have a great mix of new and used books, plus rare finds and tons of different genres. I spend 2 hours browsing the shelves, I took photos at the book tunnel upstairs. There’s also a vinyl section and local art displays. The staff is super friendly and the books have good value. It can get busy on weekends, but it’s worth it.

Awesome bookstore and art gallery. They have a section of collectable and rare books that is super book. The main collection is a mix of new and vintage books nicely curated. They have a large section of vintage vinyl records. Upstairs they have a small coffee shop, several artist boutiques, and several more book sections. This place has a super cool character overall.
