Walmart Supercenter

I tried to give it a 4 but just couldn't do it. It's a big Walmart, groceries, HBA, you name it. What can you say, everyone has been in one. The Pros, it has all the basics and common items at a decent price. For me it's close by as well and I appreciate the number of self-checkouts. I even got fairly quick assistance when an item didn't scan right. The Cons start with the parking and exterior appearance (trash). It's almost always crowded and rarely are aisle staff much help (most are busy stocking and I still encounter a lot of out-of-stock items). I trust it for the name brand basics. Perishables, not so much (especially produce which I've had indigestion after consuming on more than one occasion ... Hen House and Hy-Vee near by are better choices in this category). I won't stop shopping here because of the Pros I mentioned but I also will continue to get half my groceries at other stores.

It is not the first time I notice that their price tags are not correct. Today I avoided the pain of over pay by checking the price in the app. The parchment paper was $3.97 on shelf, but in the app it is over $7. It is very frustrating that I always need to pay attention to price tag and and an item to make sure I am grabbing the right thing.

"I am a truck driver, and I came to Olathe, Kansas. I looked for parking and found a Walmart nearby. When I arrived, I found a very large parking lot, spacious enough even for a truck driver, and it was clean and nice. I went into the supermarket to buy some of my needs, and I was surprised at how huge it was. I found a section for girls’ accessories, beauty products, and men’s clothing, as well as a full section for women’s products, not to mention the essentials like food, beverages, sweets, vegetables, meat, and bread. They also offer banking services, such as money transfer and withdrawal, and an eye clinic. There are also clean restrooms. I really loved this place. However, for trucks with trailers, there’s no parking available for overnight stays, only for shopping purposes."

I love Walmart. This Walmart is pretty good though they only had one checker last night. Though I said something to some people in customer service and went back to the super long line and what do you know someone showed up and opened up a register. Register 23 to be exact. This is what I call excellent service. If there is a long line of people waiting to be checked out and a manager is standing around and refuses to open a register, this is what I call bad. Walmart needs to have a policy that dictates that anyone should be able to open a register and check someone out. They should make people feel like they belong at Walmart rather than Walmart wishing they would just hurry up and leave. But overall I had a excellent experience at this Walmart.

I was reminded today why I don’t shop at WalMart. I needed to exchange two pairs of sweats for the exact same thing in a smaller size. Go to customer service, I was told "we don’t do exchanges but you can return and repurchase" okay whatever, just put the money on a gift card I guess. Then she stared at me for about ten seconds, and realized I wanted to pay for the new pants right there at customer service.. she said "next time we’ll pay for those out there" and motions to the overcrowded ocean of self checkouts. I should’ve just got my money on my debit card because then I could’ve just left. To top it all off, my gift card for the exact same items, didn’t cover the total. Magical. 1 star because I can’t give less.

I had shopped for several hours in Walmart and suddenly began feeling ill. I approached Matthew, a Walmart employee in Self- Checkout, for help. He found someone to scan my cartfull of items, found me a seat on a bench, and then took my cart out to my car, unloading my items into my car. Matthew was very eager and kind to help, far beyond what I have experienced before when shopping at Walmart. I am so thankful for his help.

Not a good experience. Can’t find anything. They are always out of things I want. They discontinue items without substitutes. I like to go to other Walmarts further out rather than this one closest to me. They have more varieties of everything!
