CaP’s Crossing

This is my third year celebrating my birthday at CAP’s! I love CaP’s! Christina is the perfect hostess! She makes me feel safe and all my needs are met. The first year, I did one camp site. Last year, I rented two campsites and Riley’s Bungalow. This year, my family rented two sites and Grant’s Getaway. It is the most peaceful and most beautiful place to spend a weekend! I highly recommend staying at CaP’s for your next camping trip! They also have day passes if you’d like to spend a day there and check them out!

Great place to stay if you are trying to catch some nice size rainbow trout in the winter. They do fall in the special restriction zone ( 1 rainbow trout per day per angler, min. 18", artificial lures only). We caught our limit when we arrived and the following morning. There are deeper pools loaded with big trout on either side of the property, avoid the middle shallows if you want to keep your lures. We chose to tent camp there and it was the perfect choice (steps away from the river). The sites have 110v outlets, fire pit, grill, and picnic table. As well as a community shower/ restroom area. Having a private section of the river to fish for two days for very reasonable cost was completely worth it as opposed to fighting the crowds at the public access area a few miles away. Highly recommend, will be frequent visitors throughout their winter seasons.

Caps Crossing is my favorite place to stay when at the river. It’s so peaceful in the mornings. Absolutely beautiful views. Yet it is still right in the middle of fun during tubing season. My most recent trip, the river was still a little chilly to tube down the river. I’ll be back soon though.

Great little campground. Stayed in Grant's Getaway. Friendly staff, nice and clean. They sell beer and ice. Small bar on the beach. Beautiful part of the river.

Best place to float on the Guadalupe! Best staff and riverfront to hang out with friends! Will return!!! Also baby goats to see while you sign up for tubing.

Been coming here every June for a while now and it's a great place to stay. I've stayed in the cabins which are great. I've pitched a tent there which was great especially having electricity at even site. Stayed with an RV and has full hook up. The owners and staff there are great! Very helpful and welcoming. We get shuttled upstream and arrive back at the camp site within 2 to 3 hours depending on the flow. Or you can start there or keep going from the upstream to lonestar and get shuttled back up. They make sure your safety is first and they confirm your party hasade it back. Definitely got to try them out!

We always have a wonderful time at CaPs. It's not overcrowded & great for families. The owners and staff are always accommodating and easy to work with. They have a wonderful spot on the river & it helps they have tubing transportation and sell ice & beverages for when we run out!
