Being new residents to the Charleston area, we were excited to try the Oyster Farm Adventure. Captain Trip was welcoming, an excellent seaman and even found a family of dolphins who wanted to play around our boat. Our educator Dan was super enthusiastic about teaching us all about the Oyster trade, farm, life and skills to shuck Oysters. Make sure you come with your appetite. I really enjoyed learning how to shuck my own oysters! This is a great trip for locals, and locals who want to bring their guests to a fun morning or afternoon trip on the water to learn not only about all things oysters, but some of the local water way history that is so rich in the Charleston area.
My husband, daughter and I went on the trip to Morris island and had a wonderful time. Our captain Chris was very knowledgeable and taught us so many things about the ecosystem of the Low Country. We saw a lot of dolphins and beautiful scenery. When we got to the island and walked around we found some really great shells and my daughter found a bunch of sharks teeth. It made us all appreciate living here even more, we feel so blessed to be in such a beautiful place. We will definitely take another trip in the future and highly recommend Charleston Outdoor Adventures and captain Chris.
We had such a great time!! Our captain was so knowledgeable and made sure to point out lots of wildlife. We saw several dolphins. Ample time on the island; we were able to explore and find lots of sand dollars and really cool shells. Overall, a great experience. I would definitely come back to do another tour!
Wow!! What a fantastic experience. Our captain Chris was very knowledgeable and humorous as well. When we visit again I would love to book the Morris Island lighthouse tour. Was so amazing getting to see the dolphins and learning more about them and the local environments. Definitely worth the cost and would be my top experience recommendation for the Charleston area.
Our boat captain Chris was phenomenal. He was able to get us safely on the boat and provide us with clear safety instructions for an enjoyable ride. My group of 7 specifically went for the Outer Banks experience of the tour, and we found this tour on Google. We went on January 2nd on the 3:30-5:00 tour and the weather during the day in the area was nice and sunny, maybe a high of 55-60 degrees. When we got on the boat as the sun went down it was for sure chilly. A good recommendation would be to wear a jacket if you’re going during this time of year. Chris was able to show us really cool spots and we were able to get some great pictures. We even saw Dolphins and had a chance to see the dolphin Chandler slowly cruising around. It was a great experience that I would recommend to anyone that is interested in seeing some cool spots where Outer Banks was filmed. Overall, I would even go again, probably in the fall time.
This was a wonderful experience for our group of 7. I am not an experienced kayaker and our guide, Aidan, made us all feel safe and confident. He was incredibly competent, patient, and knowledgeable. It was a cold day and we had debated canceling. So glad we didn’t. All the staff were friendly, fun, and helpful.
Great boat tour. Learned a lot about the ecology of the estuary and got to see so much waterfowl and sea life including dolphins. Seeing a horseshoe crab was amazing! Really enjoyed looking for shells and sand dollars. Wasn't expecting the shipwreck but that was neat!
