Litter piling up to the extreme going from the Corning Preserve Boat Launch side exit 4 to exit 5 Boston Buffalo off highway and the whole way day blowing into river where wildlife is. Something needs to be done about this! It has not stopped. It’s effecting the wildlife and all around. Litter is alone the side walking down blowing into the river. It’s just been building up for years and nothing done about it! Also bags of dog poop found. You guys are destroying the earth. No restrooms along trail from Menands to Albany side.
Beautiful track to walk; especially if you happen to be in Downtown Albany. Snow is plowed in the winter and the path is salted. Plenty of place to park you vehicle 🚗. Scenic walk along the Hudson River. You can also rent a kayak from DEC in the summer.
It is still a good place for family hangout and it's free of cost. Friendly people, and aquatic activities, such as fishing, canoeing, kayaking, boating are making of this place the favorite spot for the residents of Albany and visitors as well. But most of all, the Bike Trail along the Hudson River make of this place a great destinations for biker, walker, runners joggers and bird watcher and so on.There is not need to be afraid here. Like in the most recreational places in Albany the Riverfront is guarded by people like you, ready to make our community a better place. The residents of Albany are people that care. So, don't feel uncomfortable if somebody is looking at you, because what is coming next is a beautiful and friendly smile from ear to ear, followed by ..." you have a good day". There are a lot of activities taking place here. Mostly during the Summer. You better check the New York State official website to learn more about them. The most of the activities here are family oriented. There is a kids playground surrounded by a picnic area. That way you can watch for your children while you do your grilling. Close by clean restrooms and plenty of parking areas. The Riverfront is open 24/7. There is not need to rush. Take your time and relax.
Riverfront Preserve offers peaceful trails, scenic river views, and wildlife sightings. Ideal for walking, birdwatching, and enjoying quiet moments in nature close to the city.
This is a nice walk/run/bike trail along the Hudson River. Nice place in the daytime but it seems to be a homeless encampment in the evening hours. There are bathrooms and a bike share location. Trails are paved but a little bumpy in some areas. In the summer they have outdoor concerts called Alive at 5pm which are free to attend. Pictures below show the stage under the under pass due to rain.
Good place to walk, bike, picnic, or just watch the world pass by. On my visit there the dock at the boat launch was under water due to heavy rain and high tide.
Great place for hiking and biking 🚴♂️ the roads are very clean and well maintained.
