This was a beautiful park and I had a lot of fun checking out the various trails. Each trail is really well marked, and I only got lost once on Yaupon trail. One thing that is very neat is that some of the trail markings have color codings that much the actual color of the path ( not sure if this was intended design ). I'd also like to name drop Eugene for going above and beyond giving me some water as the water fountain was out. He was very chill, hospitable, and helpful.

It was fun to visit, the staff were very friendly and answered all of my son's and my questions thoroughly. I think the guy we spoke to was named Eugene and he had a broad variety of knowledge on the area. We explored one of the shorter trails but will be back to check out the others. Easy mile long walk.

Great trail system, best experienced in spring/summer, some flooded trails during rainy season, quite a few fun Geocaches dotted around the park as well. Pretty flat trails unfortunately, I'd say the smaller trails are much more enjoyable than the larger and more travelled ones. Wildlife is a pretty common sighting around here, friendly deer, rabbits, snakes, interesting insects, and lots of cool birds. Some super cool points of interests can be found in different spots off the trails, some much more difficult to access than others. Be sure to pick up after yourself.

Great little park with several easy nature trails. Bathrooms are very nice. There is a pavillion to sit in the shade. Since it was early March there was little foliage, but I can imagine it is much more beautiful in the Spring. The office has trail maps and a self guided trail map that helps identify the local trees. Nice place to visit if you want a simple outdoor experience for a morning or afternoon. Also, it was totally free.

Nice little park of old growth woods. Paths are well marked. Nature center has native plants around it that are labeled.
