First things first. Yes, this is very expensive compared to other cruise lines. I was skeptical going. But I was quickly won over by the quality of Disney cruise lines. The ship is a tight fit. There’s not a lot of open areas on the inside. When people are moving, it can definitely bring on some anxiety. But it is very intimate. It lends itself to the charm in a lot of way. Especially with the art deco style of the Dream. Food is incredible! The best cruise food our family has ever experienced. From the quick dining options, buffet, island food to the themed dining at night. It is a great experience. Entertainment is what puts it over the top. Every nights show is like watching a broadway musical. It’s that high of quality. It’s worth going on a Disney cruise just to see these shows. There are things I would wish I could change but those small things don’t outweigh the quality and fun this ship and experience has to offer. Highly recommend. With or without kids.
Sailing out of Port Everglades on Disney Cruise Line was an absolute dream from start to finish. The embarkation process was incredibly smooth and well-organized, which is exactly what you want when you're traveling with excited kids (and excited adults!). The port staff and Disney crew members were welcoming from the moment we pulled up. Dropping off our luggage with the porters was quick and easy, and the check-in process inside the terminal moved efficiently. Despite the terminal being busy, it never felt chaotic—Disney truly knows how to manage a crowd. The terminal itself is clean, spacious, and has that classic Disney touch. They had characters available for photos before we even boarded, which was a nice surprise and a great way to kill time while waiting for our boarding group to be called. The kids were entertained, and we were able to grab coffee and relax. Before we knew it, we were walking up the gangway and hearing that iconic "welcome aboard" announcement. It sets the tone for the entire vacation. If you're cruising Disney out of Fort Lauderdale, you're in good hands. Can't wait for our next sailing!
While absolutely a Disney experience there's actually tons of stuff to do if your adult only. The themed bars are truly one of a kind. Signature drinks are a bit expensive but very fun. If you don't drink there's still lots to do. The shows are first-rate if Disney themed. But that's not bad. Everywhere you look the attention to detail is amazing. The ship is immaculately cleaned and service is amazing. Always food is available 24 hours a day. Food is fantastic. Got to try the ribs at goofy's barbecue. They are to die for. The shore excursions for Cozumel are only okay at best. That's not the ship's fault. Honestly aside from wanting to get off the ship after a day at sea, the only reason we went to shore. There's a beautiful beach on the north end of Cozumel. It's private so it does cost but at least you feel safe there. In town stick to well traveled streets. Not saying it's not safe, but it doesn't feel safe if you get off the beaten track. It's very touristy as that is its only industry. The Mayan ruins are disappointment. Luckily we were only there for about 4 hours. That was enough. Biggest takeaway, Don't miss any of the shows. Pirate night is hilarious and beautiful at the same time. The whole ship seems to participate in a energetic performance. All in all unforgettable. Been on many cruises and this is my third Disney cruise. They are the best.
They are doing construction so traffic can get backed up. Also there were extra security checks from port employees asking for ID for people in the car. We waited about 25min from the light that turns into the port to actually entering the drop off for the cruise lines. Once we arrived at the cruise line terminal it was smooth. Just make sure to have already checked in and have the boarding pass in hand or on the phone
We had the most fun ever!! Expensive but the Disney cruise is once in a lifetime fun. We were in a new ship called the destiny and it was fantastic. 💯 Was clean fun and staff were a pleasure the weather was great we sailed 5 days to the Bahamas.
It was magical experience for my child. I'd recommend it for families to do at least once. Food and excursions were great .
Extremely well-organized and attentive staff and service, Restrooms were very clean and the transportation ( private or not) drop you off and pick you off in the shade. Love the cruise!
