Port Everglades

We cruised out of Port Everglades earlier this month. We did leave from this port in the past and were quite impressed with the improved facilities. Boarding and leaving a cruise ship can be stressful but not here. The customs clearance is very efficient with facial recognition technology. The first day dropping the luggage is a bit hectic and some baggage handlers are somewhat rude if you don’t give them a big enough tip. The one we had wanted a few dollars per item…. The last day we used a minibus that can accomodate roughly 12 people plus luggage. They take you directly to the Fort Lauderdale airport for a mere $11 each, cheaper than Uber and a very friendly driver. That’s in the taxi area. There are also some shuttles to the Miami airport, for a larger sum. A great cruise port overall.

We came here for our first time on Saturday, November 1 and returned from our cruise on Saturday, November 8, 2025. While every staff member we interacted with here was very friendly and I was very impressed with that, we thought the boarding process for our cruise was very odd and Port Everglades switched our cruise’s terminal and so it made it very difficult to board everyone which led to a 2+ hour line. I originally felt okay but did get increasingly frustrated. Honestly don’t know what to write about this situation because it was my first time and I don’t know if my experience was normal or not. Other than that, though, really liked it and can’t wait to cruise again at some point. (Written 11-17-25)

We enjoyed our cruise on Royal Caribbean's Allure of the Seas; however, our disembarkation experience was significantly impacted by unprofessional conduct from port staff. We encountered an atmosphere of hostility, with staff members aggressively shouting at passengers. Specifically, two staff members prevented passengers from retrieving their luggage, stating that they needed "permission" to access bags that were readily available. This caused considerable distress, especially for those with tight flight schedules and onward travel plans. The two-hour delay and the lack of clear communication regarding baggage retrieval created an unnecessary and stressful situation for passengers trying to depart. I have never had this experience with any other port.

Disembarking was horrible. I haven’t inhaled that much diesel since working in a garage. Left standing in the pouring rain while terminal porters try to cut lines at the pick up area.

Is it the most horrible place to visit? Or to get into a service, cops are horribly rude and rude huh. Just like the staff who guide the cars to get in. Or leaving the port are rude disrespectful and on top of that. They think they have the power to mistreat you. He. I had a lot of problems with them and with the cops who just want to yell at you. I would recommend changing all staff, including even the people at the checkpoints who are at least the kindest. But all staff must be removed and taken away. to a school to educate them because no one has the ability to talk to healthy and psychologically well people.

We arrived from a 12 night cruise at terminal 2. Disembarkation was relatively smooth however the ride share lot was absolute chaos. Fortunately there was an officer directing traffic. Tip: the exact address is posted on the wall in the ride share lot section A.

Worst cruise port - they need to figure out the traffic. The checking of IDs is a waste of time and unnecessarily slows all traffic. In and out! Why out! Push the tanker traffic elsewhere . Too many stop lights and poor traffic management do not make a good impression for the amount of economy this port must bring in.
