This nature preserve was such a peaceful and refreshing place to spend time outdoors. From the moment I arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming. The trail itself was short and easy to walk, which made it perfect for a relaxed visit without feeling rushed or exhausted. Even though it wasn’t long, there was so much to enjoy along the way. I spotted raccoons tucked among the trees and saw a variety of birds moving through the canopy, which made the walk feel lively yet quiet at the same time. One of my favorite parts was the number of butterflies throughout the preserve. They were everywhere, adding color and a gentle sense of movement that made the experience feel almost magical. What really stood out was how friendly everyone was. Other visitors smiled, said hello, and seemed just as happy to be there, which added to the overall positive energy of the place. It felt like a shared appreciation for nature and slowing down for a moment. Overall, this preserve is a lovely escape from everyday noise. It’s ideal for anyone looking for a peaceful walk, light wildlife sightings, and a calm, welcoming atmosphere.
This was a peaceful place to walk and be one with nature. It’s definitely a hidden gem and I’ll be back to visit again. ✨
A great place if you are a raccoon! I like animals, but I am NOT secure when huge raccoons are walking right near you. It is definitely nature in the raw, but I was afraid to leave the car to sit out and eat or walk the paths. Not for the faint of heart, or if you like a more clean, cultivated park. I would be afraid to bring my kids here- big bees and bigger raccoons.
I’ve lived on Peter’s roads for decades and never went to explore these trails. I did go once to a wedding at their cabin. The trails were perfect and well kept. Loved the board walk, some with rails others without. I also liked how some trails were both board walk and mulch trail on and off. Loved taking the kids with their scooters. They had a blast. I loved how all of the trails were shaded. I loved the swampy areas. The manatee overlook is still under construction and I would really like to go back once it’s complete. I did all of the trails and it took about one hour. They also had an area blocked off in the parking lot with a kids play area , restrooms , shade and water.
Very nicely maintained park and trails and even saw a raccoon eating!
My kids, my best friend, her husband & I went walking on the trail here. It was my second time walking for more than 30 mins in Florida. And this I must say was a very good exercise and trail. We saw lots of varieties of crabs, birds, spiders, and plants. My family and I enjoyed this nature walk. It was clean and quiet. I took a few pictures while walking. I must say it was definitely peaceful, relaxing and calming to be on this trail.
This is such a nice little park! I can't wait until they finish building the manatee observation deck! I've only been 2 times, but you can see some interesting wildlife if the time is right. The first time,we saw a very friendly racoon and the second time we saw a bunch of fiddler crabs. We took our daughter's 9 and 18 month photos here. I do have to say, if you go here BRING BUG SPRAY! The mosquitoes kinda cut our visit short.
