Matanzas Pass Bridge

While exploring Bowditch Point Park by boat, we passed under the Matanzas Pass Bridge. It’s a great bridge and an impressive sight from the water. Cruising through the pass with boats going by and the beautiful views around Fort Myers Beach makes the experience even better. Seeing the bridge from the water gives you a completely different perspective of the area. If you’re boating around Bowditch Point Park and Matanzas Pass, it’s a really scenic and enjoyable route. 🌊⚓

Beautiful 😍 great place to walk or jog. Can also get food or shop. Takes you to the beach as well.

It's a pretty view and an amazing place to go for a walk

My recent drive over Matanzas Pass Bridge was a delightful experience. The bridge provides a stunning view of the surrounding waters and the town below, making it a scenic route to Fort Myers Beach. The structure itself is well-maintained, ensuring a smooth ride without any bumps or jolts. One of the highlights of crossing Matanzas Pass Bridge is the breathtaking sunset view. As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a canvas of vibrant colors, reflecting beautifully off the water. It's a moment that makes you appreciate the natural beauty of the area. Traffic can get a bit congested during peak times, especially on weekends, but the wait is worth it for the views alone. The bridge also offers pedestrian walkways, making it a great spot for a leisurely walk while taking in the sights. Matanzas Pass Bridge is more than just a functional piece of infrastructure; it's an experience that adds to the charm of visiting Fort Myers Beach. Whether you're driving, biking, or walking, this bridge offers some of the best views in the area.

The bridge has a beautiful view of the beach and the ocean, and is very breathtaking going over it in a car or on foot or on bicycle. At the same time, the base of the bridge on San Carlos Island is as close as you can legally get to Fort Myers Beach on an e-bike, as e-bikes are illegal, on both street and sidewalk, on Estero Island and Fort Myers Beach, violation carries up to 9 months in jail. E-bikes can be locked to that railing on the San Carlos Island end by people riding to the beach from the mainland, after which you'll have to continue on foot.

Fishing pier is shut down after Hurricane Milton. Bridge has a beautiful view when passing over it onto the beach.
