this park is a bike and watchin/visit with the kids paradise..Complete with bike trail, arborium, ice cream shop, playgroung and just a nice spot to sit when you want to think about things.
Great little park to check out. Nice walking path. Grab some ice cream if it’s open!
Was neat, could see the prison in the distance from a lookout, there's a small park, ice cream shop, and some cool picture opportunities. I would say that there could probably be a lot more cool things put in this area to see, and it could be maintained a little better. A neat little stop if you are in the area, but I wouldn't drive more than an hour just to see it.
Get your kicks on route 66, Joliet, IL.. Gorgeous little hwy. 66 roadside park with views of the canal, railroad and historic prison. Parking is paved and large enough for any size rig or RV. Ice cream store was Vantastic, I opted for the Reeses Flurry, yummy! Trash cans about the property. I had 3 bars of Verizon 4G LTE Roaming.
Unless we missed something, it’s just okay. It’s a strip of a paved walking path. They have a few sculptures and a couple trees have a sign saying what type of tree they were. There’s lots of birds around but my bird identification app couldn’t hear them clearly due to the traffic. This was a good outdoor activity for my family, including 8 year old grandson. You can’t see the Des Plaines river from this walkway. I truly hope some community group helps to restore the mosaics that are losing their tiles. There is a free parking lot. I didn’t see any restrooms. The shade of the trees on s nice on a hot, sunny day.
Really neat place to stop. Ive been to several stops on Route 66, but nothing quite like this one.
Very nice and clean park. It had a few odd and vintage sculptures.
