Crego Park

Update: Stopped by today and the area was alive with people on the water, walking and running, sitting and calmness. And the fish were swimming. This hidden little gem is along the River Trail off of Mount Hope Rd. Quiet and tucked away. Great for walking along the trail. A couple of docks to fish from. Picnic tables and benches. Clean. Picturesque. Wildlife and plants. The flowers in this photo smell heavenly. (*Tell me what they might be if you think you know.)

It's a super cool little tranquil place. Right off the north side of Mount Hope just west of Harrison Road. Good place if you need to quit little escape to unwind in the middle of your day if you happen to be in that side of town or area. Is it true country setting just off of MSU in the city of Lansing. Once you're in there you'd think you're out in the middle of the country side not sitting right on the edge of MSU in the city of Lansing!

Calm nature area. Good for an easy to moderate trail experience. A part of the trail runs parallel to the highway ramp which makes it a bit annoying. The trail through the nature area is quite serene and calm. Would rate the overall experience as 3.5

Great place to go swimming. Heavily fished with lots of pressure. Crappie and bass have all I pulled from the lake. The park can fill up fast with paddle board yoga and family's enjoying the easy access to swimming.

Great little place tucked away. The lake/pond is pretty with the geese and ducks. I did a lap around the path. It's not very far but can be a bit tricky in parts (uneven and tree roots etc) Pretty fall colors

Nice little park. Never crowded. Fishing, boating and relaxing. Connects to Lansing River trail

Please read before walking! The trail is 1 mile long. But only 0.5-1 person wide. So don’t walk this unless you and your companions are comfortable touching strangers. The whole far side of the lake is fence on one side and falling into the water on the other. It’s very muddy and icy at certain times. I am only 5.4 and had to duck often or be whipped in the face by branches. On the bright side - my butt got a great workout thanks to being clenched the entire time.
