⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Whiskey River is the Heartbeat of Laredo Nights! Whiskey River is hands-down my favorite and only hangout spot in town! The music is always on point — whether it's the DJ spinning country hits or live performances that bring the house down, the vibe never misses. From fun, high-energy dance classes to electric line dancing nights 👢, there’s always something to get you moving. The crowd is amazing, the energy is just right, and the security keeps everything smooth and safe. Let’s not forget the gorgeous waitresses and the super attentive bartenders who always keep the drinks flowing and the smiles going. 🙌 If you're in Laredo and looking for a good time — Whiskey River is THE place to be. No questions asked. 💃🍻🔥
🚨Beware🚨 Ask for your ITEMIZED receipt. I got charged a tip AND a gratuity. They said it is two different charges because my bill was over 100 (3 people). If I hadn't checked, I would have tipped more than I would have wanted. FYI. This is strike 2. Strike one was worst. No more going back.
Too loud to even speak. The drinks were good and not too expensive, but they make you pay 20 dollars before you can close your tab. They didn't say anything before I ordered. Ended up having to buy something extra just so I could leave. The waitstaff were nice but I can't recommend this place.
I’m glad I found this place! Gives nostalgic feels to a wholesome country bar. The lady servers are very kind and always smiling. They are well mannered and proper. The restrooms are always clean. The bar has a clean smell and welcoming facing when one enters. On Friday and Saturdays I love that they offer dancing lessons. The instructor is very good and proper as well. I like that they are teaching people to dance so they can enjoy the county genre. I Ike how the dance floor is separate from the guest who are not dancing .
Out of the two country bars, this one is definitely THE COUNTRY BAR to go to. Majority of the time, country music is being played which I definitely love about this bar. Weekends are starting to get extremely packed though, so gotta get there early or call ahead to reserve a table (which I think they now charge for). Also there is no cover charge, unless there’s a planned concert / artist coming to perform at the bar. I love how the dance floor was built. It’s like a corral, which is great so random people standing or walking by, won’t be getting in the way. For parking, there’s a back parking lot that can be accessed through the side area of the building. However definitely need more areas to park at. I def think they need to consider expanding cuz it’s quickly becoming the hot spot in Laredo for a country bar. Plus another bar area to order drinks, would help as well. This place just opened in Oct. 2024, so they are still kinda new and working kinks out. Bare with them, & come with good energy & good vibes, and you’ll have a great time!
I actually really enjoy the bar, but they seem to have a discriminatory policy—specifically against white people. It’s a popular spot and gets really hot inside, especially with fans over the dance floor that they don’t even turn on. Their dress code supposedly doesn’t allow shorts. However, I’ve now been denied entry but witnessed several Hispanic patrons inside wearing shorts on at least three occasions. To make matters worse, tonight a friend of mine—who was with me and also wearing shorts—was allowed in without issue. When we questioned the door staff about the inconsistency, they just repeated the "no shorts" policy but couldn’t explain why others were let in. When we asked if it was a race issue, they had no response and simply walked off.
I love country music and their selection is top tier! I love that they do couples dancing lessons and line dancing lesson. I don’t necessarily hate anything about this bar, but they can improve on their communications when the dancing lessons dates change. Otherwise 10/10!! 🤠❤️
