The workers aren’t paid enough to care about much of anything, the manager is horrible, the activities lady is constantly condescending to everyone. The park is in a good spot, the cabins aren’t bad, but the service and the quality of the park overall is subpar at most. The roads are atrocious, rules are either never enforced or harshly enforced over small rule breaks. This park needs a major redo and a new manager.
Horrible. What used to be a wonderful experience is ruined by many factors. Number 1 being assigned a space and having to beg for one closer to family. We have been members and coming here for almost 30 years and never had an issue with camping next to family. No shaded space available even though many sat empty for the 3 day weekend. We had to search for an ash/hot coal can, rules are ignored, aggressive dogs remain unleashed, dog poop everywhere. No greeting or wave from staff. Store closed. Rec room closed. Manager unavailable. Speeding through the campground is ok. No helmet rule. Weeds abound. Trashy junk rigs allowed. Rig washing ok in site space. All these issues make for a miserable camping experience. Thousand Trails doesn’t care.
Avoid if you want to feel welcome — this park has a pattern of rudeness and double standards. Staff have snapped at me for waiting seconds at the gate, enforced rules on me that they ignored for others, and spoken to me and my kids in a cold, condescending way. Instead of a friendly RV community, it’s consistently hostile, unprofessional, and unwelcoming. **** Update: Shortly after posting this review, the park sent a mass text to all campers reminding them to use the gate code "because rangers might be busy." This was sent minutes after my review describing the rude gate incident — instead of anyone addressing it directly with me. (Screenshot attached.)
They really need to get someone to do a better job keeping up with the grounds maintenance. Much attention needs to be addressed around the brush by the "lake's" behind the cabins. I am afraid that there are too many eucalyptus trees in the park. Eucalyptus trees are one of the mist flammable fat hot burning trees. You get no discount for having unavailbebates in the park with no warning notice to what is closed or inoperable when you make reservations
Nice staff and relaxing resort.
Nice place for the most part
We thoroughly enjoyed our spot and had very nice and respectful neighbors. Had an issue with incorrect information being on our account that was rectified by Ranger Supervisor, Jean Dillard. Had tried to have this corrected since January. Ms Dillard reviewed our documents and ensured us that it should be cleared within 3 weeks. Thank you for taking the time to assist us with this matter. All of the Ranger Staff were courteous and friendly. Also would like to thank the Membership Specialist, Shawne Gilliland, who provided me with the numbers and contacts that I needed. This is our go to in So Cal and are appreciative of the Thousand Trails Staff.
