UnderTow Arcadia at Century Grand

This place was an absolute treat! Best Tiki in Phoenix in my books, quite possibly a top Tiki bar in the USA, but a solid recommendation for anyone who truly is looking for real tiki atmosphere and drinks for a night out. I was in Phoenix on business and this was a highlight of my few days here! The Rum Barrel was recommend and was incredibly good, peach forward. Decided on the Missionary’s Downfall for drink two, phenomenal! If you like minty, herbal drinks it’s a pleaser! The bartender treated me to a fizz drink because I was asking questions about how it’s made and the technique to getting the foam to rise out of the glass so perfectly. Very knowledgeable staff! The staff struck up conversation and really appear to love what they do. Plus the space is both well themed and quite intimate while remaining fun and inviting. Highly recommend reservations, but don’t worry about the fee to reserve. It’s applied to your bill when you are done as a credit!

Atmosphere: 8.5/10 Located inside Century Grand in Phoenix, which houses three different bars. Fully immersive tiki concept set in the underbelly of a ship. Quirky and well executed, with ship and pirate-themed background music, ambient sound effects, and animated visuals playing through a faux window. No traditional backbar—the ship design is the focus. Plenty of bar seating and tables. Music volume works well for the theme. Drinks: 9/10 Recommendation: Off The Grid, Passionfruit Mojito Tiki-style menu with good-quality drinks. Menu structure could be clearer, but selection is solid. Flavor execution is very good across the board. Coasters are provided for most drinks, depending on glass type. Glassware is average. Garnish is classic tiki and well done. Presentation, including ice, is decent and consistent with the concept. Service: 8.5/10 Water served on arrival. Friendly and attentive team. Professionalism is average but service runs smoothly. Reservations recommended. Prices are average for Phoenix.

I came here for my birthday, I'm a New Years Day baby, with my family. There were 5 of us, and we reserved a table at UnderTow Arcadia. I was going to rate our experience a "1 star" because we had a bad experience, however the manager Shai, saved the day. She talked with my Mom and invited us over to one of the other concepts, and went all out to make my birthday memorable. I would highly recommend this establishment, any of the concepts, as long as Shai is running things everything will be wonderful. She truly cares, and as a former Restaurant G.M. I can tell you what anyone reading this already knows, someone that cares is a rare thing these days. Shai, you've made a loyal guest out of someone that was about to be anything but. Thank You.

Our bartender Shelby was awesome. She ensured we had a memorable experience. From helping with drinks to getting merchandise. The decor was unbelievable. We will be back again and definitely tell friends about it.

Was traveling from out of town and went to this place as a recommendation from a friend. The ambience was very cool. They had an actual drink menu which for a lot of bars I've been to seems like a foreign concept. For the price I was very happy that I wasn't served some watered down run of the mill fruity drink. The drinks served were thoughtfully crafted and you didn't feel like you had to keep ordering drinks. I really appreciate this place being an actual bar and not taking advantage of customers and actually providing a lovely experience! 10 stars!!!!

Undertow is a super cool Tiki bar. The theme was cool, the bartenders were awesome, and most importantly the drinks were fantastic!!!! We didn't get food we just came for drinks....I actually don't know if they serve food or not.

My only complaint, is that I wish we're had more than 90 minutes. We could have hung out here all night! The bar was colorful and lively. The staff was amazing!! Our server/bartender was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. We will absolutely be returning!
